Ed Nelson
Do this at your own risk. I connected my C22 Thermaltake case to a X370 Prime motherboard using the RGB header. I found that the voltage was compatible. I connected four wires to the existing controller. Cut the connections to the actual controller circuit by cutting the traces to that part of the circuit, see picture. 12Volts, and RGB channels. Works like a champ. As this only uses the three channels I cannot chase or individually control the LEDS but it still works and connects to the Asus aura application. I modified a four pin internal audio cable to make the connection. After making the connection to the RGB header on the motherboard I re-installed the PCB and only connected the four RGB strips from the case. I left the 12volt connection and switch connection off as they do nothing after the modification.
