Hi all,
so I’m going to water cool my PC and mount my card vertically. I have a 3080 xc3, so I need a pcie gen 4 16 x cable
Im in Canada and the only thermaltake connector I’ve found is a right angle, which doesn’t work for the vertical mount.
I purchased a Link-Up cable, but even though I specifically made sure to match the right cable with their recommendation, the holes don’t line up and I can’t mount it. I can get one of the small holes to match but that’s it. even then I can’t screw in the stay to hold the riser cable.
I’ve got a bolster that I used on my GPU when it was installed normally, so I have support there. Do I need the base to mount the riser cable on or can I just leave it? The card wasn’t cheap and I don’t want to damage it, plus I’m not thrilled with the aesthetics of the bolster especially with me spending the effort and energy with setting up water cooling.
