if you dont want to spend $$, check around your area for places that take old pc's for recycling. They usually have a nice stack, could find something better and paint/mod it!

its not hard. I purchased paracord (its super cheap on ebay) Remove ONE wire at a time.. using either a staple or tiny screwdriver (VERY tiny) or an actual pin remover, you pop a pin from one end, peel the wire off the flat cable, then remove the pin from the other end. cut the paracord almost as long about 1/2 down each pin. Tape one pin up (so it doesnt catch).. slide it through, remove the tape.. Now the fun part. hold the cord half way up one pin, then pinch/slide your fingers along the entire length (stretching/smoothing) of the cord. Make sure that both ends cover where the wire attaches to the pin, but not the actual pin. Using a lighter, slightly melt the end then quickly roll in your fingers to smush/pinch the end tight... (yes its a bit hot! lol) smooth it again and repeat the other end. Now, re-insert the wire in the spot you removed it.. and do the next wire. Its time consuming, but the result looks great. Now, on another note! @Thermaltake... you need to change something on the PSU side of the 24pin plug. I was easily able to put the top plug in upside down (it was dark! lol) causing the clip to snap to the side. You need to make the plug really only fit in one way because it took me a few minutes to realize what happened and why my pc would not start!

well... considering the few minutes I spent pulling apart my X1 - I am already impressed with what you can do! flip the window.. even the power buttons! the shelf, bars, etc... so much can move its great. So I can only see them adding features to these

I like the idea of a second window.. the case is already one large vent lol - I cant see how putting a window on the other side would ruin it too much (depending on set up)

I was lucky enough to win the Core X1 (and Water 3.0 and DPS G Psu) form eTeknix forum CES giveaway. Unpacked it last night to give it a look over. First impression - very cool! so i started to take it apart to look at it better... the first thing I found was one of the thumb screws was broken. Just the screw was there - the plastic part was broken into pieces and still in the Styrofoam. The second is that the case will not sit flat! It wobbles back and forth - the feet arent adjustable so my guess is that the frame is bent out of shape? Then I noticed that the top panel screw holes dont quite line up right so the thumb screws need it go in at a slightly downward angle. Other wise - its a very cool design! Now, if I only had an ITX mb! lol Thanks for sponsoring the contest!

i have taken parts out, but only when really needed... first vacuum the visible stuff that you can get to.. then carry it outside and hit it with canned air! POOF!
