Just to do something, so did I setup my EK-Supremacy EVO, with the right parts.
At the same time, so did I test my cam setup, so I can upload pictures while I work with the pc.
-
Scan.co.uk still havent gotten the case into stock, so guess it will be a bit longer then planned before I get the case.
-
As you can tell from the titel, this will be a black themed water cooling build, where noice is not dealt with (in terms of parts selected).

Status right now: Done building, for this round.

I got my Water 3.0 Ultimate today (pictured below sitting atop the laptop that's taking the backseat for my build) but I might as well get this off my chest, as I said in my last post the radiator is too big for my case and didn't realize this until after I won it, in fact for it to fit I'd have to go about getting one of the several compatible Full Towers which is a significant price jump (~$50 to well over $100).
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-case-rise
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-case-caso530m1
Both comes in at $80 and both can fit a 360mm rad.
So it is possible to get a case under $100 that can fit it.

The Core X series is exclusive for SCAN in the UK and Alternate in Germany for the time being (in Europe).
That explains a lot. Might have been a good idea to post that somewhere.
-
Never mind, I might be more costly, but no one else could deliver one, so I placed a preorder with scan.co.uk
-
5x 8 Watt channels, for the Commander F5.
Its not the best out there for multi fan setup, as you can get 1-3 per channel, depending on the fan.
If a fan uses 0.3A, then it uses 12V x 0.3A = 3,6 Watt (at max speed).
I'm also building in Core X9, and I went with Lamptron FC5 V3 Fan Controller (6x 30 Watt).
If you want the same type of slide switches, check out NZXT Sentry Mesh Fan Control (5x 30 Watt).
-
None of my local shops have gotten the core X9 available yet, not even as prebuy.
Is there only certain shops that have been given the first batch or something like that?
Right now, so is my only option scan.co.uk, which is a pain to deal with if something where to happen.
-
they don't accept paypal.
What about something like pre-paid Visa?
-
Cant you just get it from Amazon or something like that?
-
Hmmm I can see clearly from the pic that, The motherboard tray cant be removed to fit our needs. how sad it is on a water cool build case like this with a max option of 3 X 480 Rads can fit in this case without a small adjustment of a removable motherboard tray and a 10 PCIE SLOT HPTX motherboard to Mini ITX in one case which would be awesome
You can remove the motherbord tray, but not the back wall PCIE slots.
Also, I'm too disappointed by the case, as its too small for more then 3x 480mm rads. Was hoping to mount 6 in it, but guess that was a bit over the top.
-
My Actual question is
Can i install a 10 slot PCIE motherboard tray in Core X9 series????????
It only comes with 8 PCIE slots.

The purpose of the graph is to provided the space that are save and workable
Might have put that on the graph it self, so its less confusing.
-
Hi Chiobe,
Regards to the dimensions listed, for your convenience we actually measured the space you can work with taking out the front panel and the case feet so that must be why the numbers don't match up
Shame, guess my 6 rad build is no longer an option, as there is not enough safe space left.
-
You got to choose ether 360mm (3x120mm fans) or 280mm (2x180mm fans).
A single 280mm rad wont be enough, so go for 2 360mm rads.
-
"The graph" does not take into account that you can use a couple of cm extra on both front and rear of the case for the graphics card. 590mm will fit 100%
And there is the problem, there is no way for people that havent gotten there hands on the case to know that, leading to confusion when different set of numbers are presented.
This is the numbers I get from the graph:
Internal height 402mm (256mm+146mm) (100mm less then total height)
Internal width 289mm (149mmx2) (91mm less then total width)
Internal depth 540mm (100mm less then total depth)
From website: Dimension (H x W x D) 502 x 380 x 640 mm
So ether is the sheet metal used for the case quite thick or there is something wrong with the numbers.
And when you plan on stuffing the case full of water cooling, so does the numbers matter.
-
590mm long graphics cards will fit. Are there graphics cards that long out there already?
The point was that right now so do I have 3 sources for numbers: You, Leo and the website.
Which leaves me with conflicting numbers and I have no way of knowing which is the right once.
Best shown with "the graph" that says 540mm is the full depth of the case, while you and the website says 590mm.
-
I took a ruler and measured from side to side, the measurements from this graph are a bit more sophisticated. You can believe them.
The problem I have with the graph is that it says the case is 540mm from back to front (inside), meaning you cant put a 590mm long video cards into it (like the website says).
So simply different sources says different things and I just want a clear answer.
-
That section is 590mm from front to rear, 360mm from left panel to right panel and 155m from bottom to the dividing frame.
Thanks, but you might want to check with Tt Leo, since the graph he posted in the Core X series discussion thread, says something else.
I'm lost as to which numbers I should belive right now.

Internal Dimension for Planning Your Build:
Core X9
I'm confused.
From website: Dimension (H x W x D) 502 x 380 x 640 mm
Yet I only managed to get these numbers:
Internal height 402mm (256mm+146mm)
Internal width 289mm (149mmx2)
Internal lenght 540mm
I refuse to belive the case is eating 100mm each way.
Also another fun fact from website: VGA length limitation 590mm (without ODD cage)
So I'm ether reading the picture wrong or there are something wrong with ether the website or the chart.
-
Hey guys,
I am fixing you guys a internal measurement graph on the x series,
please refer to the Core X series discussion thread, hope it will help on clarify your concern and builds.
Core X9 is currently ready...still working on the X2 & X1, it should be available soon.
Hope its more detailed then whats been released on the website.
If X9 chart is ready, can we see it now, so we can start finalising our parts list?
Edit:
Never mind, saw that you updated the thread without it showing.
Mouse sleep mode?

A quick search tells that a few others has this problem.
I think its the laser that sleeps after a while. Might have something to do with the software.
