This worklog was all about the woodworking.   Using some cedar from a tree that was downed within the 40acre area around the shop, I did some initial cuts on the shape, and then it was over to the CNC to pocket out some holes for the fan grills.

The center piece is actually double width and has a pocket on the inside.  This will be where a lot of the PSU cables run to keep things clean and organized.

I used tape to mark the areas that were going to be covered by the center support, and then punched some holes for mounting it.

The left and right supports needed some material removed to allow for airflow and PSU cord access.

A quick rough-fit of all the wood pieces to make sure things fit.

The window was cut out of .25" acrylic.  A new one had to be cut due to the height requirements being slightly larger than the provided P5.  I also really like the way the cast acrylic etches and lights up (spoiler).

Some add'l shots of the wood pieces nesting around.

The center support nests over a couple cable routing panels that will help guide the PSU cords in and out of the pocket.

The unfinished assembly.  All the wood still needs sanding, cleanup, resin, stained, and a myriad of other odd jobs.

The top lid lifts up on a hinge and allows easy access to the upper components.

Finally, a sneak peek of one of the next steps... wiring.  This was just a quick run with some scrap wire to determine how to wire all those leds without making a spiderweb mess.

    The loop. Finally!

First some pads underneath the GPU's

And the first fittings and pipe

    Works like a charm

    Should become something like this.

    But still lots to do.

Time to work on the hardware for the project. First up, fitting the i7-5820K and full cover block for the ASUS X99 Sabertooth.

I had to remove the thermal armour from the motherboard to fit the full cover block. Here you can see the exposed southbridge and VRMs:

    Installing the CPU:

Here is the full cover waterblock installed:

It would be a shame to waste the thermal armour, so let's have a look at making it fit with the water block. Here you can see the parts that overlap:

Nothing a little Dremeling can't fix...

Here is the rough cut - fits nicely. Now just needs cleaning up and then time for paint:

I'm working with several controllers for fans and lighting and want to have them in groups.
Fans - Top lighting - Bottom lighting
Need multiple cables and extensions from side to side through the 'powerbar'

Hello my fellow friends,   Time for another update...may i present u The Shui Shen "motherboard-tray" After hours and hours sketching, measuring and dubble measuring i got the final design ready to be laser cut. I have to use the laser as the details are so small a normal plasma cutter would burn all the material away. So this is the mobo tray were all the hardware components will be mounted on. As special feature I will put all the power supply wires thru the holes in the mobo-tray so it looks like the wires are disappearing inside and transforming into digital print plate wires (you will see later what i mean) So thats it for now as time flies and i still have a lot to do...

    Until next update fellows!

    Hi everyone!

    Let me first introduce myself

I’m Peter Brands, 35 years young and from a little town in the middle of The Netherlands called Urk.
I’m an electrician, and mostly active on trawlers, vessels and luxury yachts.
I’ve been an online gamer and hardware enthusiast since 1995 where I got my online nick ‘L3p’ and started modding in 2009.
Some might know me from my desk-pc builds ‘L3p D3sk’ and 'Cross Desk' or scratch build ‘L3pipe’.

I have to admit I'm not really a competitive casemodder, more a passionate liquidcooling enthusiast.
But with the Tt P5 and the idea I have as you can see in the banner I just couldn't resist

    Hello everybody,

Welcome to my project page, hope to meet some nice peolples here who share the same passion that I have !
My name is Mike Petereyns and I live in Belgium (Gent) I practise several jobs for a living, one of them is at Volvo Trucks as a mechanican and my other job is my own company PC-customs.be nothing big do, just a one man army with some employees like my CNC router, 3D printer, plotting mashine and paint booth. Beside my two jobs I am also a loving father of 3 childeren and husband of the greatest support my wife. Some of you may never heared of me before but that will change now i hope... I am modding on a high level for abbout 10 years now, with several top 3 places in Europe and a Nr 1 worldwide last year with my Tri-MAX scratchbuild.  I'v been modding and traveling like crazy sins than, but I love it ! Now you know me it's time to explain or try to explain wat my plan is with this crazy "SHUI SHEN" Project !!!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    THE NAME:
...水神...Shui Shen (WaterGod) ...as you will see the water will flow above, around and bellow the hardware components !!
There's only one that can help me with that and that's "SHUI SHEN"

    THE PLAN:
As you can see I will use a Core P5 case and MOD it with all the modding power I have! The picture above is a previous render I made to show wat the idea is, the final design will be improved a lot but for now you can see the idea behind it.
I will make a custom mounting panel so I can choose where I want to mount the hardware and cooling component's. The panel will be lasercut with a very special design in but thats for later...
Also I will make a custom top clear acrylic panel with routed cannels inside to connect the watercooling loop inside the acrylic panel !! Instead of using straight line pipes I will use the acrylic panel ....and that's a uniqeu for me !!
The power cables will have a very special act in this project to, you will see later on ...

To keep it short I will MOD every bit and byte in this project with Godness powers!!   ... So hope you will enjoy this Project as I do...SHUI SHEN!!

    Kind regards Mike.P

First of all a big round of thanks to Thermaltake and all the other sponsors and partner for making this event possible and of course including me.
My name is Ali Abbas, English, living in Germany/ Nürnberg since 1989. I jobbed at many computer stores and BTO shops and centres in the 90s
and got my degree as a a Network Technician in 1999. I am self employed since 2005 in the Computer Services branch.
We all know how sterile computers can be if we only work with them, so my way of letting off steam and relaxing is by killing, restrictions, voiding warrantys, murdering dins and terminating norms and standards. I simply love findind out how things works and trying to improve them.
A certain nack for computers has always been there and I actually built my first ugly casemod in 1995.
I really got into this passsion though after competing for the first time at the International German Case Modding Championship on Cologne Germany.
After winning bronze in the first attemp, I had been bitten by the bug and frankyl speaking, I havent had a good nights sleep since then.
I spend every possible second building and improving my skills and carftmanship. I went on to win the Championship another 9 times with 8 Vice Champ titles and 7 third places too. Apart from that I have succesffully taken part in many international contests and can boast successes in just 5 years. Just a few of my 30 mods worth mentioned are maybe even known to some of you.,The World Record gigantic Largest Computer mouse called DCMM Colossus, or Ragnars Revenge, or The Dark Knight or the Samuarai Sacrilegium, as well as PC-Reforged for example, just to mention a few.

So thats eneough self prejudiced rubbish, , the next contest or competition is always the most important for me, and this great TT build off is no exception. Its gonna be tough against all you other fine artists, but I will do my best to give you a hard time, while expecting the same from you too.

My concept: Will be wild, and will be using only hand driven and regular hand tools. No automation tools, like CNC, 3D-Printers, Laser or Waterjets etc will be used. just good old 100% hand worked stuff.

Dont see what it is, see what it wants to be, driven by this philosophy, I will do my best to honor the name I have given this build.

I am more the type who rather starts modding than making great plans. I will start the first cuts this week. Its hard to describe in word what I picture, let my say that skulls, cross bones, sabre, flags, terasure maps and famous pirtes like Blackbeard and Morgan, as well as fictitious ones like Lomg John silver and Flint will all be pondered upon.
No it has nothing to do with the Pirates of the Carribean films, but is of course directed at that era and all the famous pop cultrue motives and style we connect to that time and age.
I will strive like I always do to combine the following modern hardware with the mentioned theme in such a way that they dont disharmonate the whole effort in any way. So lets hope for the best..

I am Daniel, I am 29 years old, I come from Italy and I am known with the nickname Twister, and that's how everybody calls me. Modding is just a very deep passion for me even if I started it casually, but this passion is growing for the people who surrond me. I have won many modding competitions during bit-tech including numerous mentions in Pc Domination, Cooled PC and others in Italy, in the following monthly and annual editions. I made many works like Refl3ctoR, among them one of my most famous Mod is the "Twister mod 8.0.0.D and the last created is Frozen Grey. My most important aspiration for my passion is to be really different and unique in the modding panorama, trying to shape works with "clean techniques" which require costantly new resarches to sharpen my skills.   The Name of  my mod is RED IMPACT             My Build Intel Core i7-6700K

Avexir Impact  16GB SLi Asus Geforce GTX980 Strix
