I don't have any of the parts as of yet for it, me and my uncle are likely going to go to Micro Center this weekend to get the bulk of them (Notably the CPU, GPU, SSHD, PSU and likely the monitor).
Oh very cool! How did that go for you?

After building, the only PC I will buy at retail is going to be the Microsoft Surface (something I can't build myself). IMO, once you know how to build, or are an enthusiast, there are no benefits in retail tower PC's.
hmm that's kind of what i thought. until the day you can make your own surface set up right.?

This community is filled with many talented people who have made some really cool PCs but I was curious, Why would you buy a PC versus building your own? Are there any major benefits?

I am looking into getting a hard drive for my Rig and I have no idea what would be a suitable amount of disk space. Western Digital has a 1TB hard drive and that seems like a lot but what do you think? I don’t plan on playing a lot of games on it but I do edit video and sound so I would love to be able to store a lot of footage. What would you recommend?

What is the one part in your build that seems to wear out and you always have to replace first? Are there some parts that are made to be replaced sooner than others? I want to have a better idea of what to expect after my rig is built.

Well i hide them behind the motherboard, or zip-tie them down!
personally i prefer not to have a birds nest build
Oh no, those things have to be organized. All behind the motherboard, just, don't look behind my motherboard.
i shove it behind the motherboard also, as long as i cant see it through the window its fine
So i would zip tie all the wires behind the motherboard but if when i have to cut it i bet i will just let it Birds Nest under. that could become tedious.

I have been looking at a few different rigs recently and I have noticed that some people let their cables just go everywhere while others keep their wires nice and organized. Do you organize your cables or let them go where ever they want in you rig?

Did you guys actually go out into the warehouse and take those pictures just for me? If you did, that was a really cool thing to do. Thanks! Just placed my order for one, really couldn't beat the price.
Yes indeed! that would be Mike that did. he beat me to it as i was going to but if we can help the community out in a way then we will do so.

For the serious audiophile, wired is always the way to go. I'd be open to a BT for casual phone usage, never for my PC / stereo / music.
haha i have never heard that term before, i need to start using that.

How is everyone doing on their current projects? Have you hit a snag or are you already done? I have been working on my first PC build but progress has been really slow as we have been really busy around the office. Feel free to post pictures of your progress!

Compressed air, Pledge Wipes, Rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs!
thats what i would have thought to use.

Often suck up dust on gpu fans, cpu fans and motherboard with a small handy vacuum cleaner. may need an air blower. Only do such things when exchanging the gpu or cpu.
when you vacuum, do little parts ever get sucked up?

Happy,
Here is some more details on the Messenger bag, thanks for pointing out about the inside pics, we will look to get some added shots on the page.
Bag large section (Inside) max width was about 15"
Secondary section is about 13"
There is foam padding between both sections and take a look at the compartments as well on the inside.
i did not refresh and see your post responding to this already. Thank you Mike!

Anyone have any internal shots of the current messenger bag you offer? I'm looking to switch from a backpack to a messenger bag, and need something that will carry your common tech items (tablet, phone / phablet, earbuds, cloth / cleaner, usb keys, lanyard, etc), so I need some padding and dedicated spaces in the internals.
Dimensions too if you have them please.
Thermaltake store doesn't show the internals.
I asked around the office and there should be one floating around. I will try and locate it and take some pictures for you.

With different options for headsets available these days, which do you prefer? I have not used Bluetooth headsets yet but I heard that the sound quality is better with them. I prefer wired for the moment but I am open to new things. I would love to hear your experiences with Bluetooth headsets and wired headsets

Are you the kind of person that will save parts of a PC to hopefully use them in a later build? I was talking to a coworker awhile back and he said that his girlfriend wants him to get rid of some of the spare parts he has laying around. He says that he may use them in something eventually . What computer parts do you hoard?

I normally keep 4 cases for my phone, one for everyday use, one backup for, one heavy duty waterproof case for extreme conditions and a Luxa2 leather wallet case for the classier events. I know some people have way more cases for their phones. How many do you have?
-
When it comes to cleaning your rig do you take everything out and clean it piece by piece or do you just take a special cleaner to it? I have never cleaned a PC and would love to know the best way to get the job done.

I had a Nokia 920, didn't use a case for 2 years, that thing was a beast. But, now I have the 1520, freaking huge, and beautiful, but so slim, have to have it in a wallet case.
Phones back then didn't need cases, they just had different color kits. Those Nokias were crazy tough.

Water, if you're overclocking, it's the only option. Unless you're crazy, (and rich enough) to run phase change.
Water : Cooler running temps and better overclocking.
ok good to know, im still very new to this so i have to see what i will need. Thank you for the valuable information.

Have you ever built a rig in a particular theme? Like maybe to look like something from a movie or something really out of the ordinary? I was looking into a rig that was built into a Tie Fighter case that looks really cool! Which themes have you tried?
