  1. hello, for some time the computer no longer detects the fan controller. -Fans: Pure Plus 12 RGB TT Premium Edition radiator fan. - motherboard: MSI Thomahawk Max -processor: ryzen 5 3600 Help me please
  2. I am waiting for the rest of my parts to come in but I am building an Asus rampage 6 extreme core p5 build. I am using Asus thor 850w power supply and i need to find a way to mount it in the traditional way instead of the Thermaltake way fan facing out. Also, I am using an AIO cooler from Asus so there is the mounting bracket issue. I have the brackets and the case. (I ordered the separate 3 mounting brackets) I am waiting for the graphics card, the processor and the cooler and the rest of the ram to arrive. I ordered custom 3D printed brackets for a horizontal (traditional mount) psu mounting position. I am hoping my motherboard is large enough to allow the AIO cooler to mount in the space allocated for the radiator on the case. If not I may get Thermaltake’s P5 pump and do it myself. This is the first time I have ever built a computer so I wanted to keep it as simple as possible and in my skill level. That being said, I read and watched a guy mount the cooler sideways using the vga brackets. (the covers used to cover the spots where the graphics card(s) go. I am not sure of their name) I am hoping to get some help from the community because I am new to all this. Here’s to DIY and community to help.
  3. Hello. Is it true, that the height of CPU cooler can be only 155 mm? Does someone apply cooler with larger height ?
  4. I've had a thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme for just under a year, now, and it's been working perfectly for my AMD FX 8350, until I tried to use their included Fan Control software to create a custom speedcurve. I tried to alter the curve slightly so that the fans would go to 100% if my CPU reach 50 because it's designed to reach a maximum of 60 or so degrees. Now the fans will only ever run at maximum speed (2000rpm) or idle at 1000rpm. -I can change their behavior slightly - when I switch to the "extreme" profile in the software, they seem to run at 100% all the time. -If I switch to "manual" (but factory default, so normal), they only run at 100% whenever my CPU reaches 35 C, and then drop back down to 1000rpm. -If I switch to the "silent" profile, the fans stay at idle - presumably until my CPU gets really hot, but I'm unwilling to test that. I've tried restarting my system, resetting my bios, re-installing the software, checking the connections... I did send them a tech support request a few hours ago (at the time I didn't know these forums existed), but I have no way to update them on my slightly new information. Initially I'd had my 8350 overclocked to 4.6GHz (stable for nearly a year), but while trying to fix this issue, I reset the bios, but that didn't help, outside of making a pattern visible. -Here's a screenshot of the problem with the overclock (with notes): http://puu.sh/h7Npx/854d680655.jpg -Here's a screenshot while running at stock voltages (this CPU is under load the entire time in this one): http://puu.sh/h7YU3/9b158b1321.png It's as if the program forgot how to increase the speed gradually, making the fans run at "idle" or "max", and there's a threshold at certain temperatures, though the only one I've been able to observe is the one at 35 C under the normal profile. So basically my computer is usable - if I sacrifice the overclock I've had for months and am willing to deal with the computer alternating between silent and extremely loud ever few seconds. And yes, it's my only computer. Thanks for the help! (Running Windows 7, and open hardware monitor to monitor temps - normally) (Actually, the fans would only jump up to full speed if the CPU ever got to 35C. So I'd only have to deal with the constant alternating when working on a project or playing a game. If I was simply browsing or letting the computer idle, the fans would ramp up less often.)
  5. was wondering if anyone else had this heat sink and could tell me if it was good or not. I used to volunteer at a small business building computers. after a certain amount of time, I was rewarded for all the volunteer hours I had by being able to build my own computer to take home. so I found a case that looked nice, and inside was an old looking heat sink on top of the processor. I took it to all of the people around the facility to see if anyone could tell me the brand so I could research it a little more. no one knew what it was. so I decided to examine it on my own. I took it off, and found it was completely covered in dust. it was staked EVERYWHERE. so one of the facility's workers told me to go use an air nozzle to clean it. they had one of those huge industrial ones, so I decided to clean it and the rest of my PC as well. upon getting all of the dust off of it, I found what looked like 2 letter "t" on the side. the fan also had blue LEDs when it runs. blue is my favorite color, so I kept it. for about 2 weeks, I kept asking different people if they could identify it, but nobody seemed to know anything about it. was testing out some motherboards one day and noticed that one heat sink on a processor had the same 2 letter "t" on top of it as my heat sink. so I looked at it closer, and found that it was a brand called "thermaltake." so I went through their website and found that my particular heat sink was a thermaltake V1. was very excited as I finally figured out what it was. so now I come here asking if anyone else has this heat sink and could tell me if it is worth buying another one. the one I have is really old, and I want to know if I should buy another to replace it, or seek a better cooler. thanks in advance.
