  2. Hello, is there a 5 pin extension cable for these fans?? I can't reach the area where I would like to place the controller so I would appreciate a link to an extension cable. It seems that the 5 pin design is proprietary and so it isn't easy to find an extension like this.

So i'm still on my quest of finding a way to sync every possible RGB LED in my case (ASUS GPU, RGB Fittings, reservoir lights, Riing fans) with one software (i know, rather impossible quest because apparently proprietary control is the "best" thing there is...) I considered trying Asus Aura, but it only works with simple RGB headers on thier own hardware. When i kept looking, i stumbled upon Gigabytes RGB Fusion which lists the new Thermaltake Riing plus premium fans as compatible? https://www.gigabyte.com/mb/rgb/ready Other than that i can't find any proof of this working... Has anyone ever tried that? I don't own Riing Plus Premium fans right now so i can't test it, but can anyone else confirm if this is working?
  4. I just installed a system in the View 28 Riing edition and it's absolutely stunning. The only downside is that the Riing fan on the back is too loud. I hooked it up to the controller on the back that syncs the front RGB to the fan RGB. The fan has a 5-pin so I can't connect it to a motherboard header while having my LED's set to my choice. Is there a way to make the fan spin slower?

The View 28 RGB Riing edition came with one Riing RGB fan and a controller at the back that runs at constant 12V through molex, but is there a way to run the fan at a lower rpm and keeping the RGB? I saw some packs came with a controller but I can't find any seperate controllers to buy. I'm trying to just lower the rpm as the fan is just a bit too loud. I can't attach them to PWM headers on the motherboard as the fan uses a 5-pin instead of a 3 or 4-pin.
  6. I have been looking at the Thermaltake Floe Riing RGB 280, but at http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model_Specification.aspx?id=C_00003121 it says the radiator dimension is 280 x 120 x 27 mm. That sound a little weird, shouldn't it be 280 x 140 x 27 mm?? Read somewhere it got 14 mm fans, so is it an error or ??
  7. Salutations, I have just completed a computer build and I am having a few issues that I assume to be PSU issues. I got a Toughpower DPS G RGB 1250W power supply. I got the TT DPS G PC app, and when I launch it, it says "NO Device Detected." I'm not sure why, but because of that, I cannot monitor my PSU or access the features. Is there any solution to this? Additionally, my computer will often restart out of the blue when doing things that it should have no issue doing, like playing a game or surfing the internet. I assume this to be a PSU issue as well. All of my drivers are up to date, and overheating is not an issue, because I consistently monitor temps. I have a GTX 1080 that has 3 fans on it and stays very cool. I also have an I7 6800k that is liquid cooled. I used the TT Pacific RL 360 liquid cooling kit, which brings me to my next issue. The RGB Riing fans are not recognized by the "Riing RGB Radiator Fan" application. It does not show a warning, it displays the temperature but does not let me change the color or any other aspects. It is version 1.0.2, please help. I have the fans plugged into the included fan controller which is plugged directly into the "Pump Fan" header on my MSI x99a gaming pro. I have tried all of the headers including "CPU fan" and "System fan." The fans spin fine no matter what I plug it into, but the program never works. Please help me with my issues. ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 / i7-4790k / GTX970 / 16GB DDR1866 / USB2.0 header on motherboard Windows 10 x64 version 1607 / Riing RGB Tt Premium Edition V2.1.5 / F1.0.0 I can't get the v2.1.5 software for Riing Premium fans to load the brightness on boot or loading a profile. The sliders in the software work just fine and the actual file in my user Roaming/AppData/Tt/RGBRiing/Riing/ directory shows the application stored the set value (ex. 0.49) but it treats anything less than 1 as off... so they store it as a float, but load it as an integer? Even 0.99 = 0. It loads the color and fan modes just fine, but when I boot my PC, or click the SAVE button, or click my saved profile, I have to go move the slider hard right (off, 0) back to where I want it. Sigh... anyone have any ideas am I missing something? Also, the software looses all communication with the controllers upon waking from a suspend/sleep/hibernate state requiring a termination and restart to regain PWM control of the fan speed and the color settings of the fan LEDs. The fans are stuck at minimum speed in this condition and could cause an overheating issue if not noticed.

  10. I would like to suggest a new function for the RIING PLUS RGB program. Why not create a custom area for the THERMAL function? I would like the THERMAL function to be customizable (animations, temperature limits, colors and brightness). or That each LEDS animation function could use the THERMAL function
  11. Multiple versions, plus, premium, premium plus... all on different websites and microsites. No access to previous versions available. The naming is confusing. Dependencies are not properly installed with the application - such as the uicomm.dll error, which I think is fixed by installing the C++ runtime library. Why not just have ONE application Thermaltake? Its not hard. Why not just have one that WORKS too? That might be a start - dont tell me its hard, guess what I do for a living. This is -####- hour here... you need to fix this. Its been what, over a year now? I am annoyed that I bought these fans. I am annoyed that they now sit there at slow speed idling away not responding to PWM and being ineffective. I am getting the feeling though that this is a classic thermaltake "ignore it and it will go away" situation. But if that is the case, this will be the very last time I touch your products.
  12. I was wondering which of the Riing fans, TT Premium or the Plus has the better led diffusion. I have the Premiums and while they only have 2 leds per fan the diffusion creates a relatively smooth diffused look around the ring whereas every video I've seen of the Plus the led's seem very visible and defined, very dotty. I much prefer a smooth look in my build. Is that just an effect of video recording or is the Plus worse than the Premium at creating a smooth look. Cheers.
  13. Recently, Thermaltake announced their new Thermaltake Riing 12 LED RGB Radiator Fan TT Premium edition with a new digital fan controller and RGB software at Computex. I am curious as to if these new fans and the new controller/software are compatible with the 1st gen Riing 12/14 RGB LED fans?   14. So I built a case and installed three Thermaltake Riing Plus 14 RGB fans (16.8m colors and 140mm). I found that the back of my NZXT S340 case does not support a 140mm fan, but only a 120mm fan. I'd like to add another 120mm fan to the case and add it to the Riing Plus RGB software to control it as with the other 3... but I can't seem to confidently identify which 120mm fan would match the existing Riing Plus RGB 14 setup. I did buy a single Riing 12, but it seems to be a different beast altogether... only 256 colors (as opposed to 16.8m) and can't be directly connected to the already installed Riing Plus RGB 14 controller... nor can the controller that came with the Riing 12 be daisy-chained to it. Which 120mm fan would be compatible with this Riing Plus RGB 14 setup/controller? And where can I buy it, as Amazon doesn't seem to sell just one (only a 3 and 5 pack)... ? Oddly, Newegg seems to have one, but is $104... as opposed to a three pack which is only $98. ####? Thanks, Dave
  15. I have 2 packs of the Riing Plus. And the software has fixed issues magically. Had them a week and was disappointed as only one pack showed up in software. Before : 1 pack was always Rainbow, and other pack I could adjust color and speed. Now : Both packs appear in the Riing software and I can control them as I like. Thanks for the fix Thermaltake. I'm posting this to let others know they might have problems fixed if they update the software. Now if there is some way to chain them such that all run at exact same color and speed.
  16. Hey There Everyone, I'm writing because I had the riing 120's and just picked up the 3 pack of 140's. I've got two 120's in the front and now have a 140 at the back and two 140's on my radiator. I have a total of 5 fans and have them all plugged into one RIING controller. When I open the RIING software it only has controls for three fans. How do I access controls for the last two fans? Many thanks in advance Burk

  18. Hello, I recently purchased the Riing 14 Premium edition fans for my new build but it is not working as per expectations. After installing all the drivers and the software from the website, the software does not detect the 3 fans. Here are the things that i have tried. I've connected the fans into different headers from the controller. I've connected the fan controller into all of the 9 pin USB2 on my motherboard. I've connected different Molex cables into the fan controller. I've used different points of my power supply. I've used both of the USB ports from the controller cables. I've tried all the controller number settings i could from the back of the controller. I've tried using a different machines. I've tried downloading different versions of the software. The older version will have 3 fans displaying at 0 RPMs and i'm not able to control the fans still. And still i cannot get the software to detect the fans. I think i am not the only one with this issue. I need advice on this. Please help. The main star of this build were the fans My build as such. Asus Z170-A Motherboard. Intel i7-6700K Superflower 750W Modular Gold. *I think these are the parts I need to list for the "debugging". **All parts purchased on 23rd December 2016. ***Thermaltake fans ordered online on 12th December 2016. ****Thermaltake fans arrived on 22nd December 2016. *****Location: Singapore
  19. Hi All, I've been thinking of picking up some RGB fans for my watercooling setup. Before I buy something, I always do my homework. Previously, I was thinking of getting NZXT AER RGB's, They are also about 30$ a pop, but their RGB light ring would be facing the rad(and defeat the purpose of RGB) if I did push-pull. I happened on TT's Riing line, but their product line is confusing and all over the place. So I dove in and tried to make sense of the situation. Please feel free to correct me if I have any details incorrect. Here is a summary of my findings so far. There are three lines of RGB fans: Riing RGB(12cm/14cm), Ring Premium RGB (12cm/14cm) and Ring Plus Premium RGB (12cm only). All are advertised as high static pressure and suitable for radiator use. The software for the Riing Premium and Riing Plus seems to suck pretty badly compared to other vendors. Note: Do not beleive Tt's pictures of the Riing RGB and Riing Premium RGB fan pictures. These fans CANNOT show more than one color on a fan at one time!! This feature is only available on the Riing Plus. macst34 Riing RGB: - Central Light guide which shows leds from both sides of the fan (as opposed to AER) - Individual Leds are NOT addressable, so one fan can only show one color for all LEDs at one time. - fans use proprietary 5 pin connector to hub - Simple 3 button controller hub (3 fans per hub) ; can daisy chain controller hubs. Riing RGB premium - Central Light guide - Individual Leds are NOT addressable, so one fan can only show one color for all LEDs at one time. - fans use proprietary 5 pin connector to hub; Fan motor seems to be the same as Ring RGB fans - USB controller hub / no buttons software control only (3 fans per hub) ; can daisy chain controller hubs. - uses "Ring RGB Tt Premium Edition" software, current version 2.1.2 - *seems the software hub and fan fin profile are the major differences compared to the Riing RGB line.   20. Dear forum, it is my first entry here, so please dont blame me for any mistakes i make So, first of all, i own an NZXT S340 and i am planning to use the riing RGB fans as an intake. I am looking at buyng the 3-pack, because then i could mount two as an intake and i would have one spare fan left. So, if i want to put it on my CPU-heatsink, i would have to connect it to the splitter that is included, but then i couldnt control my CPU-fan individually, but if i connected it to the MB, i could change the speed without a problem, but how would the lighting react? Would there even be any light? I really dont wanna buy 3 individual fans / 3 pack +1 fan because it would be 20€ more expensive just to have one more small controller... Thanks for any help!   21. I recently bought some 140mm RGB Riding fans for a new system I'm building. All's quiet save for one that makes a loud clicking noise while it's running. It still runs fine but the clicking can grate at the nerves. Is there anything that I can do to remedy this issue? I will follow this up with a link to a video of the sound one I get back home. On a side not is there something I'm missing with the controller for the fans? I shut the machine down and the color settings I have set aren't saving. Any suggestions?   22. i recently got these fans. the software is a joke. it doesnt even have a "open minimized/hidden button". you guys really screwed us over with the "premium" fans. when bought them i was under the impression they were the same as the "dumb" rgb fans, as in the controller had the buttons and it can plug directly to a pwm port. but instead i get a really dumbed down hardware controller that connects to the motherboard via usb2 header. this means that in a few years these fans will be useless when there arent any usb2 headers on motherboards any more and i wont be able to use it "normally". there is no reason any more for the controller to do ANYTHING other than pass the correct settings from the api to the correct fan. some suggestions: make an api for the fans. something like: (and please let it be able to be done from cmd prompt etc, added bonus will be cross system compatibility not just windows if the api and software front end are coded in a universal language) ttprem -color <red>,<green>,<blue> -brightness <brightness 0-100> -speed <set speed number 1 -100> ttprem -color cycle -brightness 100 -speed pwm ttprem <controller number>:<fan number> -color cycle ttprem 1:1,2,3 2:2,3 -color cycle (controller 1 all 3 fans, controller 2 only fans 2 and 3) ttprem.exe -color <r,g,b> -brightness <0-100> -speed <0-100> -duration <seconds> (added duration, how long it must take from last settings to new settings) this could allow for some pretty neet setups. everything from rainmeter events to bat files to the fans being able to be changed based on other "measures" the software you ship with purely interacts with the api. all the fans need to be shown. no needing to jump between controllers. the software must handle it all seamlessly. define groups of fans. can be a mix and match from different controllers. a fan can be a part of more than 1 group. settings can be applied to individual groups. no limit on how many groups you want allow the pwm feature to listen to other measures like GPU / hard drive / case temp with custom sliders. when "measure value = 50" then "fan speed = 60%" etc (custom curve). you guys use HWinfo in anycase. should be easy to program (imagine having a fan blink like a hard drive notification light, or fans changing colour based on an open app). i'll add more if i think about them

I was so excited to get started forgot to take pictures in the very beginning . Couldn't decide on one standard color so decided to take advantage of RGB options. So that's what I did. But Stuck With Red Meets Blue concept (AMD + Intel).   24. I have RGB fittings (with a controller) and 3 Riing Fans (same controller?). Can I plug all devices into one controller and have them work in sync? The controllers look the same? While the controllers only have 5 pwm ports, the RGB fittings can be daisy chained together, so I can get everything plugged in. Is there a limit to the number of fittings that can be plugged into one of the controller ports? Thanks, Ernest
  25. Greetings all! I am new to the custom PC world and during my first venture into the wild PC building word stumbled onto the beautiful RGB Riing fans, and all their glory. Alas, I stumbled into some issues with the Controller, which stopped working after a few hours. To be clear, I have two sets (six fans, two controllers) of RGB fans. Neither controller responds to me pushing the buttons, which is an issue... Anyway, when I boot up my computer, one set of fans Light (yay!) but go to a random color or starts the cycle (little less yay...). The second sets light don't come on at all and don't always start spinning until a quick Reboot of the PC. So... after some non-invasive (I didn't take any of the Riing components apart) tweaking of the fans, I had no luck in fixing it (super sad face), but I did narrow the issue down to the Controller that came with it. So, the question, at last; Will one of the other Thermaltake controllers work with the RGB settings of the Riing fans? I was thinking mayhaps the RGB Commander might work, but couldn't find anything around the internet about it. Anyone have the same issue? Any ideas how to fix it?
