My first attempt at hard tubing in the X71, I tried to fit a EK-CoolStream CE 280 double at the top and a EK-CoolStream CE 420 Triple at the front but couldn't get the top one in because of clearance. Tubing is not the best and no where near straight, I'm thinking of redoing that centre tube coming from the out port of the CPU block back to the res. And it being my first hard tubing go, I wasted quite a bit of tube. My advice is plan and measure your tube routs carefully first before turning the heat gun on. I'm a little disappointed in this case, however I'm going to try and make the best of it. Just finished leak testing/flushing last night, will post some more pics/videos of final fill and bleed later tonight. Thanks for looking ***UPDATE*** Added a 320 CoolStream and the Titans to the loop re did all the hardline bar one, got away with shortening it... More Pics:

Hi Guy's I am new to this forum. I have started a new project (no name) in the x71 case. I am going to be modding the front of the case and adding temper glass. It will have a dual loop two pumps two Res and two 360 rads, I am looking at replacing the motherboard tray and add my own plus a few little surprise a long the way. Also going to we extending and sleeving all cables. Components. CPU: i7 4770K overclock to 4.6 RAM: Corsair vengeance Ram 16gb GPU: Zotec 980ti PSU: Corsair ax 860 WATERBLOCKS: EK 2x Pump: EK d5 2x RAD: EK 360 FANS: 7x 120 Riing 12 thermaltake RGB FANS: 3x 140 Riing 14 thermaltake RGB FITTINGS : Thermaltake pacific petg 16mm compression. FITTINGS : 3x EK pass through HARD TUBE: Thermaltake Petg 16mm Here are some early drawings X71 case Some of the components. Was not sure if I should use 2x 140 or 3x 120 fans still not sure what do you think? I like to draw out what I want to do and I took size for new motherboard tray. I did draw up some designs for new air intakes then got them laser cut. I had to cut some of the front case for them to fit. These are removable not sure if I am going to leave them clear or paint them. This weekend I am hoping to drill out the rivets and start the motherboard tray. Sleeve the pumps and front panel connectors. Thanks for check out my mod any question or feedback let me know below.

Starting a new project! Project Thunder is based on a beautiful black X71 by Thermaltake! As all my mods, it will have custom liquid loops and this time the color theme will be a little bit different Stay tuned! Thanks to Thermaltake Technology Inc

I've read and been told some conflicting info so I'm hoping you all can help... I really want to buy the X71 Tempered Glass Case but unsure if these rads will fit, I have 3 rads I want to install, 40mm thick 360 in the top, 45mm thick 420 in the front and a 40mm thick 360 in the bottom pedestal left hand side. Will this all fit? I've seen a photo of a 360 in the bottom but then it doesn't seem to have much room for a front based rad that's dipping in to the bottom section.... would there be 45mm space to slide a 420 in? Any help would be hugely appreciated!

So I have begun the ascent into the custom water cooling and case realm. I currently have a junkyard wars type of system that has some good components, however it looks like total crap. So I am slowly collecting the parts needed to put together what will hopefully be a visually impressive, even if a bit minimalist type of design. I am in the process of mocking up the system to see how everything will fit and to determine the best position for the rads, pump and res. What I have so far... I'm probably forgetting something 1- x71 Case 3- 360mm XSPC White radiators 9- Riing 12 RGB fans 1- Bitspower D5 pump with mod kit Chrome 1-Asus Maximus Hero vii motherboard 1-Intel i7 4790k 4-8gb Corsair Vengence DDR3 RAM 32gb total 1- EVGA GTX 1080 FTW 1-EVGA supernova 850 P2 Power supply 1-XSPC photon 270 reservoir 1- crucial 256gb SSD 1-seagate 4tb HDD 20- XSPC 14mm OD hard tubing fittings MISC XSPC 90 degree rotate type, extensions and a drain fitting 1 small LED kit various white sleeved cable extensions I plan on cutting out some of the front panel... the plastic grid behind the faceplate... so it will better show off the RGB fans. I plan on putting polished aluminum diamond plate on the back wall to mount the res, as well as on the top floor to mount the D5 pump and on the rear plate around the IO shield. Hopefully this will give a clean but rugged look with a lot of reflections of the LED lights. I am still undecided if I will be painting the case... I was thinking just going all white. First Im going to get everything mocked up... drill any holes, sand down sharp edges, then I will take it all apart and decide if I paint it. I have some time because EK has yet to release a full cover water block for the FTW edition of the 1080 and I really want a fully water cooled system. My goal is to make this thing look as clean as possible with minimal cabling visible and whatever is visible will be sleeved and routed to look good. I will try to document the progress and show the customization I do to the case along the way.
