Tt-Van Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 This community is filled with many talented people who have made some really cool PCs but I was curious, Why would you buy a PC versus building your own? Are there any major benefits? HappyBuddhaman 1
HappyBuddhaman Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 After building, the only PC I will buy at retail is going to be the Microsoft Surface (something I can't build myself). IMO, once you know how to build, or are an enthusiast, there are no benefits in retail tower PC's. Tt-Van 1

HappyBuddhaman Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 until the day you can make your own surface set up right.? Probably could now using raspberry Pi and some hellishly overpriced parts for screens etc. I think that is one area where manufacturers like Samsung, Dell, and Microsoft will keep a stranglehold on, that's a moneymaker for them so they'll keep things very proprietary. Plus there isn't too much excitement in building a tablet / phone type device. Not too much you can do with fans, lights, customizations, you imagine a liquid cooled tablet running off a battery? LOL
Tt Andy Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Well the only store PC i would buy is a laptop, well i guess its not really a PC But honestly if i was loaded and had money growing from a tree in the back yard i would be happy to pay twice the price for the same specs on a pre-built PC. but until money grows on trees i think i will buy my own hardware and put it together myself
HappyBuddhaman Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Oh Andy not me, if I had the money I would build all day every day, all the styles, combinations, and things you can do, themes, etc. oh, would be paradise. Tt Andy 1
LetsGetIt1220 Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Store bought PC's are mostly overpriced in my opinion! Fact is, it really is not that hard to build your own especially with how easy it is to access the internet these days You all know the saying, if you want it done right, do it yourself! HappyBuddhaman Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 if you want it done right, do it yourself! Yep.
dO_ob Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Actually, the only store built PC i would buy is the Origin one though i hear its quite expensive
ery444 Posted December 21, 2022 Report Posted December 21, 2022 More frequently than no longer, a deer will smell you earlier than seeing or listening to you when you're in the tree stand. One of the most tried and actual searching suggestions is to play the wind while you hunt with best budget treestands.
