Tt Andy Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Have you ever bought any expensive hardware such as graphic cards or cpu's and regretted it after the purchase? share your story's!
Albe23 Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 I went with a non 'K' version processor for my most recent build to save a couple bucks. Should have just done it right the first time.
dO_ob Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 I bought a motherboard one time that did not support SLI but only crossfire, serves me right for not researching before my purchase That motherboard still sits in my room collecting dust
Ronald DMNKLR Smith Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 I regretted purchasing the Soyo Dragon KT400 Black Edition motherboard. I didn't have the chance to check it out until after the warranty was up, and though it works still, it absolutely has always refused to flash the BIOS or OC whatsoever. The board was advertised and promoted as a great OC'r and easy to update, lots of options for RAM, etc., but the unit I got wouldn't do anything but "just work" as if a mobo in an HP or something. I think that goes to say a good deal of what killed the company.
najiro Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Hmmmm I can't remember regretting any hardware I purchased. I tend to do a lot of research before buying hardware because well... I'm not a rich guy and hard earned money needs to be spent wisely. I read reviews, ask around and go to stores I trust. Sometimes, I spend so much time doing research that when I decide to purchase the product, it's already gone! LOL Before, I usually get this itch of upgrading my hardware up to a point I know I don't need such as getting an i7 to replace my unlocked i5. I don't edit videos and do heavy photoshop and so on. I would probably regret upgrading! If we talk about ANYTHING, well... it's got to be the coffee maker I purchased! The pot broke after 3 weeks X_X
LetsGetIt1220 Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 I wouldn't really say regret but there have been a few times I wished I had not been so cheap and opted for the better/more expensive version of something. Like my first SSD was 128GB and was not big enough for all I had planned for it lol.
Tte Martin Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 I wouldn't really say regret but there have been a few times I wished I had not been so cheap and opted for the better/more expensive version of something. Like my first SSD was 128GB and was not big enough for all I had planned for it lol. I am at that point right now... I mean, my system boots up super quick but I'd love my games to load up just as quick ^^
Tt-Van Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 i would have to say that i regret buying Speakers for my computer and it wasn't compatible with my pc. The excitement i felt waiting for my package, opening it, loving how sweet they looked and then discovering that they have a plug in i don't support. sad times.
altshep123 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Bought a budget power adapter for a laptop and the connector at the PC actually started smoking D: I pulled it out immediately and opened it up to look at it. Thankfully no damage was done. I'll never be doing that again.
oddworld Posted September 16, 2014 Report Posted September 16, 2014 I wish more things in life could be blamed on auto-correct
Krusher Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 don’t know if there has been a “regret†regret is usually a lack of research before doing a project/build etc. Now STORE wise. a very geek less geek now store I used to regret going to getting home with open reshrank boxes etc..
Dirty South PC Mods Posted September 30, 2014 Report Posted September 30, 2014 Only regret one purchase. And that was the Only Case I bought that wasn't a Tt. It shall remain nameless but it was by far the worst purchase I have ever made. Side panels wouldn't stay on, little doors wouldn't stay up, and impossible to get to GPU brackets. Just Horrible. Tt Andy Posted October 8, 2014 Author Report Posted October 8, 2014 I regret not going for the best card straight away, the power is never enough haha over 6 months from 650Ti to 660 to 770 to 280x to 290.... why didn't i just get something high end at the beginning QQ Same happens with CPU, i think i can save on a CPU so i go for a mid ranged... regret
HappyBuddhaman Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Bought a low end PSU once, had coil whine something fierce. Ugh, something things you just spend the extra money on.
