Agrippa
This has probably been posted before I apologize. I have 6 rgb fans in the case (3x140) 3x120) The 3 140mm are for my rad and are plugged into my cpu header, these work fine. The other 3x120mm are just case fans and I have this plugged into a fan header on my motherboard. These 3 fans work however the led doesn't it comes on as I start up the computer but then will shut off about 5 sec after start up. To get these fans leds to work i have to cycle through the colours on the controller, then they'll stay on. Why do these 3 120mm fans not work like the 3 140mm fans that turn on when I start up and stay on? Thanks for the help.
Allerleidesign
Seems to me that they're not getting enough power from the motherboard.Few things you can try:go into the bios to see if you can set the power for those exact fan headers to maxconnect the power to the PSU directly. Agrippa
Ok, so maybe try a 3 pin molex and plug right into the psu?
Allerleidesign
Yes, i think you will lose the ability to control your fan speeds by software if you do so,but you can try it to test if they stay in the mode and color you selected when you reboot your PC. Agrippa
I set the fan power to max but they still turn off on start up. I wouldn't care that much if i cant control their speed. I'll go hunt down the molex today.
Agrippa
I think that did the trick. Plugged it into the PSU. seems to light up now on startup and stay on. Thanks for the help
Allerleidesign
No problem, im here to help Yeah that means your Motherboard isn't providing enough power on those fan headers.Bit of a let-down on the power requirement front of the Riings i guess.
