Hi,

Need to get in touch with Thermaltake support due to a major issue with a toughpower GT Snow 1000W PSU.

Just got this to install in the PC to run an RTX 5080 and when firing up the PC no device on the 6 pin SATA peripheral rail seemed to work.

Thought it might be a BIOS issue etc as the devices are all disk drives, 2 SSD and 2 HDD, about 10TB in total.

Ok, so swapped back to my thermaltake 850 gold and again the devices weren't visible.

unplugged them, plugged into firstly a linux box and a windows machine and none of the 4 drives appeared.

So, it looks like when the machine started it surged the SATA rails, (with associated burning smell) and fried two ssds and two hdds.

I contacted Scan.co.uk who supplied the unit but all they could do it seemed was issue an RMA for the PSU, leaving me with 4 fried drives and all my data gone etc.

Who can I discuss this with at Thermaltake?  I dont just want to send the PSU back as even with a refund I'm now hundreds of £ out of pocket.  TRying to work out what happened and what could be done about it.  Thought at first the GPU had mucked the bios up somehow but discounted all of that and have tested all this fried kit in other devices, all show no pulse....

  Thanks,

Stu.

Oh, and it’s also killed the aio cooler so I can’t even start the pc now….   Looks like the pump unit has died, the rad fans spin but the RGB is dead and the cpu rapidly spikes in temperature, triggering an emergency shutdown….
