  1. Hi,

I have the core V21 case.

I broke the brackets that you attach on the left and right of the hard drive before you put it in the case.

Can I buy those only from thermaltake? Or is there a generic version I can buy?

    Thanks.

  2. Does Tt happen to have, or thought about having made Sketch up files for their cases?  I'm building a new desk and wanted to try to fully integrate my case into the design of the desk.  Was just wondering.

What a coincidence! I used Sketchup Pro to make a 3D Model of my custom desk. I am planning to buy a used IKEA MALM desk, then add a pair of SJUNNE IKEA legs and made some custom woodwork on the side to display my Core V21. Cause I was always wondering, how come no desk design incorporates display for PCs. Then you have to put it on the top of the desk to display it. Or even worse, spend all that time and money to make it awesome then hide it under the desk.

Have a look and tell me what you think. Whole project should be around £100-150:

    Heres the desk:

    Here are the legs:

The bottom is an acrylic table I already have. I ll add some wood around it to make it look better.

The square rings, I will either make them on my own, or I ll buy some photo frames and mod them.

If I make the square rings from scratch, I ll just buy normal wood and stain it with this stain. It is really close to the IKEA color:

Behind the metal leg, I ll add a thin piece of wood that will hold the rings. Then I ll glue the wood to the leg with gorilla glue.

My only concern is cable management. If I add the cable management that comes with the malm it will look a bit weird, since there is no wooden leg on the left.

I might get the SIGNUM cable management under table tray. Then I ll put some black cloth, cardboard or wood to hide it.

Also the metal leg is 2cm higher than the table leg, so I ll need to raise the table leg with something.

  3. I made this for my son's birthday.

The pictures don't do it justice. Its hard to photograph it properly. It looks a lot better in real life

So basically what I did was:

Removed the window from the side panel (bent the metalic hinges)

Applied 2 way mirror film on the window (Thats really hard to do right. It took me several attempts. Make sure to buy extra film)

Then I kept the metalic hinges bent so that I can stick on them the led lights.

Behind it I placed the window from a thermaltake v21 I had that I wasnt using, on which I applied 2 way mirror film as well. I hanged it from the top.

Thanks for your reply. I emailed yesterday. Hope they reply quickly. I'm really excited for my build.

Maybe you can show them some pictures so that they ll get as excited as me!

All I need now is the top window panel, some red braided cables and I ll put  led lights on the top as well and make them white color.
