[Mic not working - Chronos Riing 7.1]

I am having the same exact issues. I can hear everything but every time I figure out how to get the mic to work and shut down my computer, the mic does not work the next time I turn the computer on. I don't think that I need to reconfigure the headset EACH TIME I want to play or stream a game. I bought the headset at PAX East and I am tempted to return it because it is not working for my needs at all.
