What a weekend down at the casemod academy at Scan computers with Thermlatake UK was great to catch up with fellow modders and meeting new faces good luck everyone.

Hi all, 

me and my daughter are honoured to be part of the first ever casemod acadamy, my daughter knows nothing about computers but ask her about horses she knows it all. 

Katie loves gaming on her pc playing Red dead redemption 2, I am looking forward to working with my daughter and teaching her some new skills., she is looking forward building her fisrt pc.

We collected the first batch of components from the Thermaltake UK and Scan computers BBQ event which was a fantastic day.

Katie learning how to install the cpu, M.2 and DDR5 RAM.

It's great working with my daughter on this project, she has never built a pc let alone learn to watercool it. 

We will be installing the motherboard and other components and do a system test once we back from holidays.

Katie learning how to paint, we used a old pc panel, practise makes perfection. 

Great to site back and watch my daughter progress as she is keen to learn and asks all the right  questions.

Yes, the final parts are here! Let's get this build started, man! 

We  been measuring up the case for modding parts and test fitting some of the products Katie has choosen for the case design. 

Cleaned out the modding shed so we can get cracking  this weekend due to constant rain. 

She willl  be preparing the case this week with 1500 and 2000 wet and dry with loads of elbow grease ready to add first coat of primer. 

Katie has finally chosen a colour to paint the case so I will be popping to the auto shop to get it mixed to match her theme.

 We got some new products today. Now, both the mentor and the student will be learning something new no more spray cans. 

We will be disassembling the case tomorrow evening ready to wet and dry the panels in preparation for the primer to be applied over the weekend.

Katie has been hard at all day, using 600 wet and dry. Preparation is the key to a good finish. 

She has two  panels left to prepare tomorrow, ready to prime on Sunday.

I picked up a new airline and quick release  connectors for the compressor ready to set it up tomorrow.

2024 Thermaltake CaseMOD Academy  

Katie has now decided the white case wont go with her theme.  

Kids lol 😆 could of saved alot of hard work just ordering a black CTE C750. 

So last night she started the first few base coats of matt black, hopefully the weather keeps up so she can finish it off tonight.

Katie preparing the panels with 2K filler ready to wet and dry again this week. She done a fantastic job for her first time using a compressor and spray gun.

Katie has been wet sanding the case panels with 1000 and 1500 grit this week.

We are still waiting on supplies that should have been delivered a week ago setting us back, but fingers crossed, it arrives next week so she can push on with her amazing design.

Katie is an inspiration to teach,  for a 16 year old who has never used a rattle can and only ever been interested in horses. 

She has listened and mastered how to use 2K primer and paint with a compressor. 

The paint has been coloured matched as part of her theme and I cant wait to see her design come to life.

Katie learning a new skill in the 2024 Thermaltrake CaseMod Academy, painting the case a custom blue that she picked.

She is an insperation to teach we got alot to get done before the end of October, fingers crossed the paint job is finished next week and start on the interior.

The weather is holding up Katie has managed to get the case masked off, flattened and painted. 

Just need a few touch ups then ready to start on the interior design and plan the loop this weekend. 

Time for another shopping trip.
