  1. Hey folks, long time Thermaltake PSU owner here and I have a spanking new Toughpower 850W installed and it makes a significant amount of what I believe is fan noise. It works just fine, but even under no load (no video card, just booting to Windows) it makes a rather loud, deep, continuous clicking sound. If it were high pitched I would think the fan was maybe hitting the guard. Is this normal with higher wattage PSUs? I'd hate to RMA a brand new PSU.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Is your power supply still working okay?

Perhaps you may let us know the P/N of your power supply, so we can double check if any thing wrong with the fan.

    Thank you.

  2. Yours Greetings friends of this community, I apologize if not the forum for this query, I have a Toughpower 750w and the problem is that the PSU on, it works, turn the fan, dvd, led etc, but the motherboard does not, the place makes it flashes the lED on the board (asus P5NT) But if you put another source it on normally. The strange thing is that it works, but does not operate the mobo. Sorry, I do not speak English, use a translator of google. Greetings look ances their opinions matter.

    Hello,

Can you try to remove your DVD drive and Hard drive?

We’re wondering whether your motherboard can work if you only keep CPU, VGA, and RAM for your motherboard. Please feel free to let us know if any questions.

    Hello,

    Thanks for downloading our software.

The "Sign Up" button was planned to connect with a website, but it’s still under construction. We will announce the website once it’s done and we apologize for any confusion caused. Hope it’s okay with you.

  5. Hello! I own a smart m650w, but am not sure if it doesnt have production failures. Its semi modular, so normally the 24pin and 4+4pin connectors are non-modular, aswell as 2 pcie connectors. Additionally my 4+4 eps connector isnt really 4+4, it is just 8pin! On top of that, there are no non-modular pcie cables at my psu, is that right?

    Hello,

We confirm, for Smart M650w, all PCI-E cables are modular.

As for 4+4PIN problem, could you email me a photo of it at vincent.kuo@thermaltake.com.tw?

We will have our engineer to check if it’s production failures.

    Thank you so much.

  6. Thanks!

But I was installing it as an admin.

Also the account settings are in never notify.

So, when I did the installing it was already with these options.....

BTW I was returning the PSU to the shop, to exchange it for another one.

    Thanks and By!!

    You are welcome.

Please feel free to let us know how the new PSU is doing once you have it.

    Thank you so much.

  7. I bought this power supply a few weeks ago.  I am suffering from the same issue also.

I've noted I've got a USB Input Device under Unspecified.  It seems windows is just installing the driver as a general usb ... is this correct ?

I tried removing this device and then rebooting letting windows readd it.  Sometimes, the DPS app will pick up the power supply sometimes not.  however when it does it will only pick it up until you reboot cause the next reboot it will definantly not pick up the power supply.

    some info on my machine:

ASUS Sabertooth v2.  (the USB is plugged into a spare USB plug on the motherboard which is enabled)

    AMD FX 8350

    Windows 8.1 64 bit.

having very little luck getting this up and running on a regular basis.  (almost at the point when i get it going again i won't reboot)

    Hello,

For the digital power supply you are using, could you possibly let us know you are using TOUGHPOWER DPS or TOUGHPOWER DPS G?

Because we have two different series of digital power supply…

    Thank you.

  8. I'd like to see some sort of an in between The original Toughpower and the new Digital ones, nothing fancy with the cloud and being software controlled, but basically a just a small led readout showing current power consumption.

    Hello,

Basically software can do more than led readout but thanks for your suggestion and we can take it into account. :)
