inquisitor536
A couple of weeks ago I installed a Gigabyte Aorus Master Z490 ATX mobo in an X71 TG. Could not align 2 or 3 (don't remember the exact amount) out of 9 standouts with mobo screw holes. So now my mobo is holding on 6-7 screws, the misaligned holes do not contact with case standouts. I didn't use excessive force while tightening the screws and tried to avoid any PCB folding/bending. I have a Noctua NHD15 double fan cooler (pretty heavy - 1320 g) and a full size gtx 1070 in the PCI-E slot (another 900 g of weight). The mobo itself is heavy (1800 g). So the total weight is ~ 4kg. Is it safe to leave the mobo hanging on 6-7 screws instead of 9? Is it safe to leave the empty standoffs beneath the mobo, even if they do not contact with the PCB directly?
