eej
My PR22-D5 pump is not working. I ordered it a few weeks back and I'm finally completing my build and I went to turn on the pump and nothing. No sound. No movement. Nothing. Dead as a door nail. My power supply appears to be fine as the motherboard lights up so I have reason to believe the power supply is fine. After researching the pump and much googling, I am wondering if I am not wiring it correctly. It's a molex connector and the wiring is red/black which implies 5V. I find this odd because the underlying lian d5 pump says it wants 8V-24V. Also, other brands that use this pump appear to come with the yellow/black wiring which again implies 12V not 5V. Very confused. The pump could in fact be dead. But I find that hard to believe...
ThermalMike
Hi eej, Sorry for the delay, been traveling last couple weeks for Computex. How is everything today, still same issue or any progress? The pump wiring should be fine, have not seen any issues with it. The pump could have got stuck during shipment, tap on the pump a little and wiggle the wiring to make sure it is not a loose connection. Of course if you see something weird, just call us and setup an RMA. Also these pumps run variable speed so input voltage will range from 8 ~ 24V Did you test the actual molex cable to make sure you are getting power or test with something easy (if you have) to make sure that rail/cable is functioning properly? Let us know and will go from there. it could be DOA, but there is always possibilities of something else too to rule out.
Hexxus
Just wondering how the pump is able to get these 8-24 volts when it's only being supplied with a 5v connection..?
