ThermalPenguin
Hi guys, I recently acquired the Thermaltake View 91 chassis. It's huge and nicely designed but I think it has a major design flaw. And that is : the hard drives in the rack are mounted with the connection to the rear. This makes it simply IMPOSSIBLE to add adrive easily. It's simply unbelievable that a case so well conceived has such a flaw. I'm now struggling for hours to manage to get 8 hard drives in there... It's simply impossible to do it :-( Unless you build out the whole tray, make all connections and rebuild it in... which is not a trivial operation, especially if you have all other stuff fitted in, especially a watercolling system. I do not think the case deserves the praises it got from all over the reviewers... It's cool for 2 drives, but not for 12 drives, as advertised... If someone has a tip on how to mount hard drives easily and properly, I'm a taker !!! I don't expect anybody from thermaltake to answer this. Customer support is simply non existent... Regards. DrWhizbang
I got 1 too and I see what you mean, have 12 drives in the side and was a faff putting in all the cables, surely they should have thought of adding a backplane to the cages or even the rear to be a removable plate 😕
