  1. FINAL PICTURE AND VIDEO AT THE BOTTOM AFTER THE CONCEPT EXPLANATION. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT. I am posting in more tha one go because somehow the sw here has problems with too many posted pictures. the video is in the last one then. thanks buddy, i hope the final pictures satisfy you too. thanks buddy, well, who knows maybe we do one day, lets keep in touch. thanks nite, glad you like it, but here are better final pics and a video thank you very much for your vote. i hope you likemthe final pics. oh, well i hope you like the final pics too. aye aye sir, here they are, thanks. Thanks guys, and I am sorry for the delay, was getting the last touches finished before taking the last pics, Today it was sunny enough so here are the final pics. Hope you like it.´and its worth your vote. PIRACY AND PROPHECY by Ali Abbas. Hello Thermaltake Community, hello world. Here are the final pictures for my PIRACY AND PROPHECY casemod based upon the TT Core P5. Am sorry for the day of delay, but I have really been working my a... off trying to finish this to my satisfaction. If I dont like it then I cannot expect anyone else too right. I had a little issue with one of the pumps which is not working properly but it is working so I can now post the finals. The concept and idea behind the design: My idea was, what would a Pirate of the 14th, 15th or 16th century like his computer to look like if he would be catapaulted into this present day and age of today. Of course he would be more than excited to see this great stuff we now have and he would want to show and flaunt it like I hopefully have. But while those pirates were certainly only human too, they would probably want it to look a little like they world they left behind. Thats what I had in mind when I gave it the name "Piracy And Prophecy". If that same pirate would somehow manage to return to his time period and then tell them all about the future and his favourit toy there, then they would imagine it according to his tellings, but in an array of picture matching their own time period. And thats what this whole case is about. The time travelling pirate`s prophecy. Yes, of course its all far fetched and science fiction, but remember what Einstein said. Fantasy is stronger than science, because fantasy has no limits. So, thats enough of all that crazy stuff going on in my mind, now I will let the pictures talk for themselves. In the end there is a small video explaining some of the features too. The video quality seemed to be better before I uploaded it to youtube. But the pictures seem to have come out good. I hope you all like it. good luck to all my fellow modders with theri cases too and thanks in advance to everyone who votes for my sick idea. :-) Ali Abbas once agin, no automative tools at all were used, just good old handicraft.
  2. hi guys and thanks to all. sorry for not posting in the last few days. I have been working my back off getting case finished. here are some last progress pics. the final pics will follow tonight after i have cleaned up and the coolant rum is filled. @ forks.dad sorry maybe you miss understood. my intention is not to lessen the automation work, but to stress that i dont use it. i i didnt say anything against others using it, but mentioned that i dont. offense is taken maybe, but i have given none. in an ocean of automation i dont think its offensive when i mention that i dont use it. as far as electric tools are concerned, they have to be guided. i didnt mean them, if i dont watch out then electrically driven holes will all be wonky, while a cnc will not budge a millimetre. i am used to people somehow getting upset when i mention i only do handicraft. no offense in meant. I feel the necessity to mention it because i see that my way of setting about this hobby is dying. i feel its my right as an artist. i know many others spent a long time learning how to use cncs and cad etc.. ME TOO, but for orders, not for art, so when comparing the artists painting with the copied poster, it goes without saying whats worth more. actually we should all stop and think some times why the words HAND MADE , not machine made have a better sound to it when trying to express somethings value. well they used to have. anyway, it simply not fair to say, automation isnt in advantage because it is. but thats not the reason i mention it. I dont stress that others use automation, I stress that I dont, period. IF I like red wine, does not mean I hate white wine. I just prefer and mention I like red. I am quite fed up of having to defend that i mention i do hand work, just because others use cnc and co. if they didnt then i wouldnt mention what is taken for granted. well anyway. lets get back to modding. here are the last worklog pics, the finals follow tonight, if we have some sun today so i can make better ones. first of all i printed various stickers from internet to patch together my rum bottle logos. u eventually used PIRATE wind with ROYAL OAK, snipped togather as rum stickers. i wired up the canons ready ofr battle.. i built in a kick pulse relais for canon number two. canon number one is the dvd ejct, two the skulls leds on off switch. but to cut the circuit i only have and smd canon driven switch so i needed a kick relais. the other circuitry is a led effect controller for the skulls so the flicker and so forth. the last three canon switches are for the Thermaltake led strips controls aye, thats wee bonny eye lights, arnt they me lad. how bonny ye are... johoho. this and other letters are on the screen which elevates and can be concealed. when closed you can see the whole writing, otherwise just my name because the sign swings with it. by the way, these letter are laser cut from a shop. they can simply not be made by hand that small, ahaaaaaaaaaa!!!! automatiotive advantages aginst art. or what.... thes skull studs are ususally for clipping onto belts. i snipped ioff the teeth and used just the skulls as fitting end studs. late in the night i strated finally with the pipe bending. i realised then that i lack some fittings and had to change the schematic final pics comins soon, hopefully tonight......
  3. thanks mumbie, not long now till its hopefully finished. wow, thanks jos214demi. am really happy you like it. dont worry about not being able to vote on the predictions, the voting for the winners etc.. start after the 25th too. thanks for you rmotivating words, am glad you also see it as art. i do too and am absolutely all in for handicrafting my cases 100%. Its been a nightmare on lack of sleep and red bull infusions directly in my viens to get this one finished in time. have more or less stuck everything together and tomorrow i will start bedning some pipes and getting the water cooling working. but before i do, i must stick and screw all the little fittings and decorations i made too. the chromme works is still not done and the studs as well as the bottle RUM labels too. well, sems its gonna be a busy last two days. :-) so, the case is now upstairs out of the dusty workshop for wiring it up. this is the controller fo the fans, i did the same bypassing wire laying for the led controller too. they will all be controlled via the gun whale canons. here i am touching if the frome anchor. the anchor itself will be metalic looking just like the skull and the bones needed some dirtying up. i then blackened the edges of the wings and silvered the tip in metalic look too. it needed a glossy clear coat though to bring the colors to life. before i stick on the fittings and studs i wamted to finger in the silver paint where needed to give the egdes of the wooden iron straps and so forth a used look. was basically a lot of painstaking finger work. the cananons are metaliced too. and fitted for switching now. so, still quite a bit to do. motorising the montor too. and all the above mentioned stuff. the deadline will be tough. more tomorrow

  5. and here is another little update, seeing as i am wiring the parts while fixing them, it looks as if nothing is really happening in the pics, but it still took all day. this is the reservoir array which is fixed in one piece behind the bottles. i am oonly using berstein golden leds in this one to match the rum coolant. after painting the letters silver, i dabbed the brown and black in to give it a little older look.
  6. thanks jos, i am really glad you like it and yes you are right, the corep5 is really worth its salt, very stable and rugged even though it looks fragile. i mean hey, the pirates are keel hauling it and its surviving, right. i am now walking the plank and sticking everything together, then they will all be wed together. so another update will be on its way tonight, here is the first. have taken the day and weekend off to finish as much as possible. so first the main chassis holder has made it upstairs for the final glaze, its sunny today thanks ####. i cut a new bottle with the dremel, the last one had scratches. the front banner, is now metalic and the swords are mounted. i dipped these eva foam letters in a wood glue dilution to primer them before painting. so, the bottles are fixed and waiting to be filled with rum,,, more to come.. tonight..
  7. @ kurt, thanks buddy, wish you good luck with yours too. so here is a little update, well actually 5 coats of sanding, staining, paining glazing etc.. just less pics. this skull was meant for an aquarium, now i need to make it look a bit grimmer and meaner. here are some before and after pics. i used furniture smart remait wax and sawa dust to better the eyes. <a href="http://s1307.photobucket.com/user/abbas-it/media/Piracy%20and%20Prophecy/19%201rst%20glaze%20and%20skull%20glazed/PICT5934_zpsy0a22ust.jpg.html"target="_blank"><img src="http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/s592/abbas-it/Piracy%20and%20Prophecy/19%201rst%20glaze%20and%20skull%20glazed/PICT5934_zpsy0a22ust.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo PICT5934_zpsy0a22ust.jpg"/></a> i amusing printer ink to stain in my ait brush for everything where the wood grain should show through. organic is the word. one of the gun whale canons will open the dvd drive so i laid a bypass wire for the switch. i touched up the skull with solver after painting it black. i did the same by fingering the canons too, make em look a bit more worn metalic looking. i did the same silver touch up look on the little shield skulls too. more tomorrow
  8. thanks guys, i surely hope so, am modding 24 7 now to get it finished in time...
  9. Hi Jos214demi, and thank for your kind words. I appreciate them. yes budjetting hobbies, especially casemodding is always a certain burden, I know that only too well. I am happy if my casmods can inspire people to realise that one can also build great themes in low budjets too. Heaven and he...... sounds good. Exactly my type of theme too. Thanks in advance for your readiness, but do look at all the cases and then cast your vote. here are some more pics, its still just the primer stains brown, red and then black though, will still change a lot. tomorrow some of this color will be sanded off again to reveal some of the wood and give it a used worn weather beaten look. for staining I am using printer ink in my airbrush.
  10. thanks mate, glad you like it. thanks to you too. lets hope the detailed color scheme i have in mind also pays off. yes guys, now color will slowly lightne things up. dont have much time now to get this finished so its nonstop modding for me now. here is the first stain in brown, which will more or les be sanded off now. i also made a ssd quick dock station in pirate ship deck plank style to match the theme. i will be in the workshop in an hour till open end and try to get as much priming, sanding and repainting donas as possible today. dont worry, this is not the final color, this is the the weather beaten primer.
  11. thanks cris thanks you ashleybog well, we will see, but thanks that you think so. thanks flamemaster666 , thats waht i like hearing themost, i also see my handwrok as art, thankyou barakyp029 for recognising it as such. i agree with you jos214demi, i love diving into a theme and living it till completion. then the theme will live too. thanks mate thanks rochrimir, i am glad it appeals. am now down in the workshop, the next update is on its way.. i hope with any luck to finish the actual build today, and maybe get some stain on it..
  12. thanks mate. yes indeed, i love details, and more over i love making every little detail myself. lasered, cnc and 3d printed stuff, whether made myself or ordered from a 3rd party is a nogo for me, its a pity that their is so much of that going on. it doesnt show what one is really capable of, but what one can make a machine do in automation, or let and have a machine do. anyway that seems to be the way things are going and the trend now. while loving and gaping at the result of such automation parts because of their precicion, i cannot say that i could ever value, cherish or admire them or could put the ARTIST stamp on them. all the more reason for me to yet again stress the fact that everything i make is made only by me, without any automatic tools at all. 100% good old hand made man made stuff. soon color is coming, then it will live
  13. thanks guys, am really trying my best to stay tuned to the theme piracy and prophecy. with any luck i shoul be finished with the interior and all other trifles by sunday evening or monday latest. monday is a national holiday here so that helps too. that means i should be able to srt getting some color into the equation then. at the moment, i am living the theme, but then, the theme will live
  14. so hi guys, forst thanks to you all for your very motivating comments. here is the result of todays modding session. i carroed on with the interior and i think it should be finished by sunday evening. its a lot of little thingamadjigs and whatchamacallits in pirate style till its done. anyway here are the pics. first i made the mid section between the fans and psu. it will hold 6 petg push compressions and will be screwed permannent with the case, it also covers the psu wires too. yes, even the grafik cards will have certain deck planking too. wires dont really fit in well in this theme, so this deck planking cover will hide them. then i thought if the aluminium plate which is holding the 6 petgcompressions is fixed permanently and i want to get behing the connections for some reason on any given day, then i would have to do that from the back, so i changed the plan and made a second plate which is screwed onto the fixed one. this was i can remove the whole block now. like i said, i dont want wires visible, so i made a stern parapet as cover for the grafik card power supplying cables, i cut out some windows for better air flow. i then made a psu mainboard cord cover which is dismantalabe. i made a deck ladder looking cover, it is dismountable too.
  15. Thanks everyone. Especially to theckingjay. Thanks for your motivative appreciation. I have been watching my fellow modders here and am really subbed by the quality they are all producing. I would like to mention that its pretty intimidating to see the exactness and precision of all that cnc stuff out there, but that it motivates me even more and more to show that 100 % hand crafted can still hold up with them. I would also use cnc's for orders but when it comes to showing my art, then handmade is the name of the game for me, not because its easy, but precisely because its harder and comes straight from the heart. My heart is my CAD, my mind is my CNC and my hands are my 3d printer. :-)
  16. aye aye sir, rum is on the way. as soon as the back is painted and i have finished the interior. am also curious how the bernstein colored golden self made coolant looks like. wont use real rum, i need that to cool my own biological system. thansk, i simply love details too.
  17. hi guys, thanks for your remarks. yes indeed the bottles are indeed reservoirs for the coolant. i have mixed some coolant that resembles the RUM color that used to brewed back then in the day. yo ho ho and a bottle of RUM, right at least hollywood tries to tell us that RUM is all any pirate of the carribbean ever used to drink, treasure island too, so its a must. the bottles will still be decorated like proper rum bottles with stickers ans logos etc.. yet to come. next update is tonight...
  18. oops i forgot this little update before the breakdown, here it is. i made some pulleys and winches for the front tackle holders which you will later see wehn its front is mounted. i also made a little badge type of sign for the back with skull n crossbones. apart from that i also made a banister set for the top skull so that it has soome protection, a bit like a ships banister rail seeing as iwas about to start the interior i dismantled the garfikcard fan system and mounted the water blocks.
  19. thanks nkwoel i appreciate your remarks and like the term tecnoartist. thanks nostalgia thanks you, i am glad it appelas thansk slugbig55, i hope they really look as i wante them too when the rum is in them thanks buschyx, yes i certainly love details, always delve into them and try to stay true to the theme. color will liven this one up soon.
  20. hi guys, i am really looking forward to getting some color on this soon. am pretty much finished with the exterior and will now start integrating hardware, finding its places etc.. making some parts for the interior. then its breakdown time. anyway. i made a little hanging sign like from old weathered wood for the monitor front. apart from that i started the last fittings, here in wood, later iron of course. i made the drawer which will contain the keyboard in the base with a iron ball snap in fitting and handle to keep it in
  21. hi guys, and here is a little update again i found this little led ringlet with a few effects too at the local car parts store. seeing as its battery driven and u can hence put it behind the front shield of arms in the plexi windows with out having to run a wire to it, i decided thats gonna be integrated there. i cut the pattern in the middle of the windows, it will be hidden behind the shield but will difuse the light through the polished sides in every direction. the protective sticky paper is still on, when its off it will be even better. these wooden strips will later in change into iron fittings. wait and see.
  22. hi guys, here is yesterdays progress with two little quickie vdeos too. i had some space issues with the swivel in monitor and was tight for space but managed ti integrate it in the end after changing the design and reducing the monitor frame as much as possible. now its mounted and works, not powered yet. the radiators have found the right place too. i found this 12v motor in ebay, dont really know what it was originally for, but it was cheap and is well transmitted and works at the required speed with 5v too. started making the moniotor housing, the 7" monitor is a touch screen and will give me a control over the whole pc even when a regular monitor is not connected. when concealed by swivelling it up, none can then access the pc, even if its running. as you can see in the video too, i just barely managed to fit it with approx 2mm of play room left. whew!!! and here is avideo i made to show that the self made back snap up system works.
  23. thanks zen. here are some more pics i made, the background is not white but somehow they seem to be a better quality.
