  1. I contacted Thermatake tech support. Here is what they said. 1. They were not able to confidently estimate the extent of any damage. 2. They recommended not using the PSU. They were not confident it was safe. 3. They indicated they would not honor any warranty since the damage was due to misuse of the PSU. As a result I chose not to use the PSU which was unfortunate.
  2. I inadvertently connected the ARGB cable from the PSU to the motherboard to the SPDIF OUT header rather than an ARGB header. The SPDIF OUT is also a +5v header, but the pinout has the voltage on what would be the ground pin of the ARGB cable rather than the voltage pin. The cable overheated and the insulation on the ground wire was burned in places. I have two questions. 1. Is the PSU okay to use? I expect the answer is yes, but I'm paranoid about electricity and power. 2. Can I purchase a new ARGB cable for the PSU? If so, where? 3. Can I use the PSU ARGB header or is it dangerous or questionable to do so now? The PSU appears to be working fine. The ARGB for the PSU also appears to be working fine, it's just not connected to the motherboard. I can change the ARGB lighting with the switches on the back of the PSU, but would rather have it controled by the motherboard. Can someone address the three questions above?
  3. Thank you! That is what I needed to know. I suspected that was the case, but needed to make sure. I can definitely change the power cord to something what works in the US. Thank you again!
  4. I have and no one has responded. I'm not looking for an RMA, I'd like Technical Support to answer the question I posed.
  5. Local seller has this PSU for sale. It is marked EU on the back of the box rather than US. The P/N ends with APE rather than APU. Will this work in the US? The input voltage and amps are the same. I expect the power cord included is different. Can this be safely used in my PC on US power? Is there any risk? The unit is new. Thanks!
  6. I just purchased a Ceres 500 case and am considering mounting my GPU vertically. The manual indicates you can use with a 90 degree or 180 degree orientation. Expanding the picture I can see the different orientations. 1. What length would I use? 200mm or 300mm? It seems shorter would be better for data transmission. But for this case is 200mm long enough? 2. Useing 90 degree orientation seems to give the GPU more support for a larger GPU (RTX 3090) although most of the weight will be born by the slot brackets. So, which cable would I use, 200mm 90, 300mm 180 or 300mm 90?
