Detrailers Posted September 1, 2020 Report Share Posted September 1, 2020 I have has a gawd awful time installing the ThermalTake duo fan controller. Instructions say to hook up power for controller to "Molex" but then what? Not all computers have a Molex plug showing. So I got my cords out and found one with a Molex female and it had a plug that looked like it fit in either perif or sata on the PSU. FAIL! First attempt and smoke came out and it fried the MB. New MB now and very cautiously trying to get these to work. Customer support said it should plug into SATA on the PSU.....no cables out there that are Molex to SATA plug, so I got a Molex to SATA output converter and then plugged into SATA port on PSU, Cable started smoking!! Have also tried a Perif plug to PSU and Molex to controller but it faults the PSU and shuts down. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
