Hi Everyone. I'm Andy Makin, a.k.a The_Crapman/Crappy. It's an old university nickname, don't askĀ š Ā
Ā
I won the Thermaltake UK 2020 Case Mod Challenge with my Division 2 themed mod Project: I.S.A.C. (Build Log)
Project I.S.A.C.Ā byĀ The_Crapman
I'm a former hardware reviewer for bit-tech.net and Custom PC, specialising in cooling and cases. I've been building PC's for over 20years and done watercooling and dabbled in minor mods for about 10 or so, but despite following the modding scene for a long time, ISAC was my first proper full on mod. To win the Thermaltake competition, as well as bit-tech mod of the month and get nominated for Mod of the Year was truly a dream come true.
Ā
I really pushed myself with that first mod, doing things I'd never done before, and I'm going to continue that trend for this one. I'm no 3d modelling expert, nor am I all that good at hand drawn sketches, all my plans are rough sketches with tons of notes so I know what I was thinking later on š Because of this I can't really share with you my plans, or what the mod will eventually look like, but expect metalwork. LOTS of metalwork šØāš š
Ā
Hopefully you'll join me on this chaotic adventure on what is definitely my most ambitious project to date. Even more so than that time I tried to take over the world with nothing but a wheel of brie and a pineapple š¤Ø š¤£ Good look to all the competitors. š¤

I am beyond baffled as to why 5 OUT OF THE 8 submissions were even accepted???
I agree with woe2you, I hope everyone that didn't modify the RAM gets disqualified...
Even more baffled at whyĀ George AntonopoulosĀ has 96 votes for 3D printing a transformers logos and sticking them on the heatspreaders?!?!?!
Like seriously??? GTFO!
Michael F SamsinĀ made something neat, that barely meets the contest rules, but in the end just slapped some covers on the RAM.
Pakawat ChaiboonmaĀ made something good, but just painted the heatspreaders and put stickers on them...
Alex BanksĀ is the clear winner since he MADE whole new heatspreaders AND his own acrylic diffusers!!!

Andrew Makin reacted to Infectedpig in VOTE NOW
Agreed. What are even some of these submissions, it looks like 99% effort went in the "stand" and 1% in the modules itself.Ā Some of the submissions should be disqualified honestly. Otherwise what are rules for.

Here is my entry for theĀ Thermaltake Technology IncĀ 2021 Casemod Invitational season 1,
" Colony "
This custom spaceshipĀ Ā was doneĀ free hand using 18mm mdf for the main base of the spaceship and 12mm for the rest of the mod. For the exterior i used old laptops and pc parts for the detail. Also utalizing theĀ parts fromĀ the Core P8 case for the bridge, ssd holders, hard driver holders and the whole mod sits on the CoreĀ P8 stand a few inches off the ground giving that flying / floating effect. I added any old stuff i had lying around the house for more detail like Lynx deodorant lids for the guns old Persil liquid lids ect. I 3d printed the rear thrusters, satellite array, vents and rear conduit the TT men where resin printed and hand painted. The ship as 1.3m long by 900 wide and stripe down for easy access to LCS and pc parts, this also makes it easier to transport.
I want to thank all the sponsors for supporting this casemod event and a big thanks to Andy Cheng and Adam Faulkner, along with all my supporters and followers through out the competion. It's been an honour to compete against talentedĀ modders andĀ for making it such a greatĀ and freindly event.Ā

Gah! Should have remembered they crop the stream later. Only watched about 100 of them š
I still can't believe it. I just see it as something I made so it can't be that good. š
