It’s time for another update, and I couldn’t be more impressed with Lucas’s work ethic. At just 15, he’s the youngest contestant in the competition, balancing school, this PC build, and working around my commitments. He’s been really hands-on with the project, learning new things along the way, and it’s clear he’s enjoying every bit of it. Although, I’m sure he’s looking forward to the finish line!
There are still a few tasks left on the to-do list, like finishing up the watercooling loop and deciding how much weathering he wants to do on the panels. We did overlook the back panel and the front glass panel, so now we’re brainstorming how to incorporate those into the overall design.
On the bright side, Alex over at Praetex Design has sent us a photo of the custom distro plate we had him work on, and it looks incredible! I know it wasn’t an easy job, so I’m glad I left it to him.
Everything is starting to fall into place, and our next update will feature the installation of the watercooling loop along with some final photos. Stay tuned!
Thanks again to our sponsors: Thermaltake UK, Intel, ASUS, ZOTAC, NVIDIA GeForce, and Samsung.
    Best regards,
    Richard & Lucas

    The final week.
It's quite scary going into the final week, one because there's still some work to do and also because I’ve spent so much time thinking about and working on this project I will miss it when it's finished.
The first job was just a small amount of Dremel work and fitting around the base of the case to fit the reservoir where we wanted it. The first fit lay on a slightly uneven part of the case. This was a simple job but just needed a bit of planning and drilling an extra hole.

Then was onto the painting of the corners that really give the build that oomph of Space Marine aesthetic. Firstly I gave the print a coating of putty spray in order to fill the 3D print and the give it a sand down before then giving it a coating of our base blue.

Now it was dry I gave it a highlight with the blue recipe we used to add a very slight gradient highlight.  Then I gave the corners and sharp edges an edge highlight with a sponge and a lighter tone of blue to add definition. A classic model painting technique.

Now you can see the final build really taking shape and starting to look like a machine of the Imperium. The mid progress shot of our mag lock corners below. (Excuse the dining table, its been my workshop for most of this build)

The day of the water cooling loop had arrived and after several attempts….and I mean several.

Those are the unused pipes. Eventually under Tom’s supervision I got the loop in, it's not the most complicated but it fits the theme of the utilitarian nature of the Imperium. After getting all the pipes fitted came the moment of truth, the pressure test to make sure it's all fitted correctly.
Luckily the loop passed with flying colours.

Now we go into the final week we’ve got to get the coolant in the system and add some of our final visual flourishes. Tom is busy building a crate to safely ship our build, so it's gonna be all hands on deck to get over the finish line.
Thanks for joining me as always.

The weather is holding up Katie has managed to get the case masked off, flattened and painted.
Just need a few touch ups then ready to start on the interior design and plan the loop this weekend.
    Time for another shopping trip.

The last few bits of work have been taking place, once I get the photos sent to me I'll get them all posted here. The rig is looking amazing though, I have nothing to teach here anymore, it's been a journey, an experience I won't forget, some stress, lots of laughs and a couple of minor injuries and mishaps but would I do it again... Without a doubt! Never in a million years could I of ever thought I'd of been entering a modding competition as a teacher and more so with my cousin, Cheryl, it was never anything I saw her taking interest in despite her inquisitive mind, I originally asked one of her sons but he wasn't too interested, Cheryl, however was very interested, kept asking me practically every time we spoke and it took me a couple of weeks to realise the perfect candite was indeed Cheryl, at that point I obviously took her up on her request and it's been a pleasure. Big thanks to all the sponsors for making this possible and for the memories they've helped create.

What a journey this has been, totally pushed me out of my boundaries and I'm actually all the better for it! There's so much I've learnt in this competition that I can take forward and implement into other projects, it's been an exciting month to say the least and I'm kind of sad it's over.

Much thanks to Thermaltake for hosting this competition, and thank you dropping by my thread,

Anyways, now time for the pictures and video. I hope you enjoy.

Hello everyone, today I will post photos of the finished project and I hope you all like the result. I tried to convey a bit of Japan here in a small 3D model mixing JDM cars together with the main symbol of Japan. Thank you very much to everyone and good luck.

After intense periods of study, design and realization, our wonderful journey together ends here.
A journey full of joy and happiness because the final result of the work was like the first thought in my mind, managing to reproduce in a way that is completely faithful and precise compared to my idea.
Now we have all discovered the real secret of the walls of the Attack on Titan so we thank Thermaltake for keeping us safe again !
Thanks are due, first to those who have always believed in me and my way of working, to Thermaltake who invited me to this wonderful competition with many quality competitors and finally to all the public that has followed the progress of the work.
    Thank you all !
    Cheers,
    Marco
