HappyBuddhaman got a reaction from eqeqeqe in Speaker elevation.
I have a set of Corsair SP2500 speakers, quite good to be honest. Do you guys keep speakers on your desk, or elevate them on stands / shelves? I have these on my desk, but am considering putting them on shelves on my wall, I kinda have them rigged there now, and am am getting a better effect from them having them a little further away. These things can really crank, and having them close seems to throw the balance of everything off.

Holy crap, this is one #### of a mouse pad, no wonder it cost what it does, ####! Using two monitors and barely have to slide half the width of the pad at 800 DPI to cover both screens. I am going to have to glue these cornners on though. Tri-monitors will be a breeze with this baby!

I did look at the Audioengines, but I wanted to add a sub, and it was getting out of my price range. The sub on the Corsairs is adjustable with a control you can keep on your desk, it can do everything from rattle the entire room to absolutely nothing, plus it fits under my desk, so it's not in the way.
HappyBuddhaman got a reaction from Tt Andy in Do you think sound cards are worth buying?
I compared the Creative Zonar ZXR and the ASUS Phoebus (sp?) with the on board audio of my MB (Maximus Formula 7), and it honestly isn't worth the investment for me. The on board audio of my MB either matches or comes extremely close to that of $200+ sound cards.
If I had a cheaper MB, maybe I'd invest in one, but the higher end MB's just don't need them in my opinion.

oh nice, i was looking into the ProMedia 2.1 too but i ended up getting the Harman Kardon Soundsticks iii, which are pretty good for the price.
LOL @ Bose, i never really looked into Bose, just thought they are too overpriced for the sound quality. I mean the top teir products are amazing but the lower teir i think your just paying for the brand name.
have you looked into the audioengine a5+ they are quite reasonably priced too but then again they are 2.0
The Corsiar speakers look a bit outdated imo, and depending on how big your room is i think the sub box seems a bit chunky and might drown out your highs and mids.
