  1. I recently experienced a very specific issue I haven't been able to definitely figure out, even though I remedied it: Long story short, I have two sets of SWAFAN 120mm fans (6 fans total, configured on three ports on the controller, in arrays of 3, 2, and 1). I started getting a Fan Controller Warning pop-up while specifically playing a video game. I looked up that issue and saw that many people get it without a known cause, and nothing was out of place. Everything looked good on the case, I ignored the error. After a day of seeing that error while playing games, and in the middle of a game, I looked over to my computer case where all 6 of the SWAFANs were stopped, yet all of their LEDs were still on-- the LEDs were even still configurable in TT RGB Plus, but their fan speeds all reported as 0 rpm. Resetting and rescanning the controller did nothing to get the fans moving again. When I restarted the computer, the fans STILL were not moving, with the LEDs on-- TT RGB Plus would even load the profile the same. I tested this with 5+ restarts, unplugging the power supply and draining the remaining power, etc, and every time it came up with no fan movement. The Fan Controller Warning also displayed once TT RGB started each time. Since I bought two sets of SWAFANs, I remembered that they both came with fan controllers. Assuming first that this problem was localized to just the SWAFANs (all other fans on the computer including the fans on my Thermaltake TOUGHAIR 510 were fine), I swapped out the controller with the extra one. On reboot, the fans came up just fine and the issue was solved. So if you're having this very specific problem, swapping out the controller is probably the solution. I can assume that I was getting a Fan Controller Warning ahead of this happening because there was something wrong with the original controller, but it's frustrating that these warnings don't actually cite what the actual issue is-- it would be great if that information could be made available? I don't know what the cause of my original issue is other than that the controller was maybe bad. So my question to the forum here: Does anybody know what would cause an issue like this, is this an issue with the SWAFANs specifically that other people have experienced, and would Thermaltake consider making the Fan Controller Warnings actually log what's triggering that popup? Also, can I plug the SWAFANs directly into my motherboard fan headers instead of using the controller? I value fans working more than I value clean cable management. If I could make sure this issue never happens again that would be preferred.
  2. I currently have 6 Riing Quad fans installed in my PC case with 2 controllers, each connecting to 3 fans. I had to clean my case recently, so I took all the fans out, but when I reinstalled them back and booted my PC, only one controller was working, and the other was not. I had them previously work perfectly. This time I only have the fans spinning usually, but the RGB will not light up. I also tried different methods like using a separate molex cable to power that controller, but the problem still exists. *I'm also thinking of buying TT Sync Controller TT Premium Edition to solve the issue, will I be able to control the fans in TT RGB PLUS if I do so?
  3. Does this idiotic case fan hub cannot control 2 200mm fans so they spins @ full speed all the time??? Moronic thermaltake doesnt answer i literally burn 120e for this ####case wich sounds like hurricane with 2x200mm @ 800rpm... Does anyone have solution to solder cables to connect on mobo and 3pin??? Or to go to store and broke case on some TT representative heads???
  4. I recently bought a pc then built it. It was working fine untill I plugged the gdv cable into my fan hub. Because i didnt know what it did. Then smoke appear. I yanked it out. My fans rgb were working untill I turned my pc off and on again. Now the rgb doesnt work. How can I fix?
  5. I am attempting to connect to a GIGABYTE TRX40 AORUS MASTER motherboard. I have a Floe Riing 360 set up in the top of the case that is working fine. Attached are photos of the connection. I can provide a video example of the case power-up and fan light up/no spin. Here are my working theories as to the malfunction: My initial suspicions are with the cables that were provided with the case. I am using the [E] Cable with the 4-pin connector (+5,D,-,G). They do not connect well with the motherboard and slip off easily. I have tried the other cable that was bundled with the case [F] but cannot find a suitable pin on the mobo to connect to. A small part of the first suspect is the COM1 cable that has a SATA connection. My initial thinking is that this is to chain SATA power from the mobo to a nearby SATA drive. That logic falls apart when I compare it to the Floe Riing that requires both USB and a SATA power supply. When I try to connect this to a SATA cable into the power supply, the power supply throws out a warning light and the case fan lights no longer turn on. Since this is a step in the opposite direction I chose to disconnect this cable. It doesn't seem like it needs the power from the mobo and the power supply. I did not want to turn on the power once I saw the warning light and saw that the fans no longer lit up, so I don't know what happens next (maybe the fans do work!). The connector in question is in the second photo labeled caseRGBcontroller.jpg Next suspicion is an incompatibility with the mobo, though I am not sure how to troubleshoot this. I do not have an rgb compatible mobo as a spare. The working Floe Riing, with its USB connector and molex power supply, leads me to believe that there isn't enough power going to the case fans that the mobo provides. The pin may only have enough power for a light, not a light and a fan. My last suspicion is that they were DOA and will not spin up. This seems very odd to me as the case was shipped in perfect condition and I have not damaged the case in any way. It's frustrating to be at the finish line and not be able to cross it. Any advice anyone can provide is greatly appreciated! Thank you, and be well.
  6. So I installed my first set of 3 Riing 12's with a controller and connected the controller to be Motherboard. I recently bought a second set of 3 and wanted to know if I could just find a 4pin to molex adapter and connect the controller to my PSU instead of my motherboard? Since the fan speeds are controlled by the thermaltake controller I would think there wouldn't be anything that I am loosing by doing this? Thanks for the help!
  7. Recently, Thermaltake announced their new Thermaltake Riing 12 LED RGB Radiator Fan TT Premium edition with a new digital fan controller and RGB software at Computex. I am curious as to if these new fans and the new controller/software are compatible with the 1st gen Riing 12/14 RGB LED fans?   8. Greetings all! I am new to the custom PC world and during my first venture into the wild PC building word stumbled onto the beautiful RGB Riing fans, and all their glory. Alas, I stumbled into some issues with the Controller, which stopped working after a few hours. To be clear, I have two sets (six fans, two controllers) of RGB fans. Neither controller responds to me pushing the buttons, which is an issue... Anyway, when I boot up my computer, one set of fans Light (yay!) but go to a random color or starts the cycle (little less yay...). The second sets light don't come on at all and don't always start spinning until a quick Reboot of the PC. So... after some non-invasive (I didn't take any of the Riing components apart) tweaking of the fans, I had no luck in fixing it (super sad face), but I did narrow the issue down to the Controller that came with it. So, the question, at last; Will one of the other Thermaltake controllers work with the RGB settings of the Riing fans? I was thinking mayhaps the RGB Commander might work, but couldn't find anything around the internet about it. Anyone have the same issue? Any ideas how to fix it?
  9. Good time of the day everyone! This is my first thread here and I'm new here, so sorry if I posted something duplicate or not. I need your help! Recently I bought 1x 140mm Riing RGB fan and 3x 120mm Riing RGB fans. Both of them came with controllers. I connected one 140mm fan with one controller and three 120mm with second controller. Both of them hooked up with M/B 4pin. After installation I faced an issue that 256 color mode (switching colors) going "not synchronously". In other words, 140mm fan change color a little bit faster than rest three 120mm fans. Is there any way to solve it? I've seen on Tt website cable to connecting controllers together but wasn't able to find it anywhere in stores AND online (USA) Do you know how to solve it? Thanks! BTW, I don't know what happened with picture's orientation ... They were OK...
  10. Ok quick question... my wife bought me the 120mm Riing RGB for a system i'm putting together and can't install it yet. I have a couple of the orange Riing fans in another system and I'm really happy with them. Now my question with the RGB version is I see that it says solid colors White/Red/Green/Blue and cycle through 256 colors; with that said can you only have solid colors of those 4 options or can you cycle thru the 256 colors and have an always on solid color of say purple or does it cycle thru all 256 color continuously? I'd like to be able to find a color and stick with it, say one fan always green and another fan always purple or yellow etc. Is the controller capable of doing this sort of thing? And on another note, can I connect the 140mm version into the controller that I received in the 120mm box so I have 2 120's and a 140 on the same controller? I'm guessing you can but figured I'd ask. Thanks and keep working on this, I love the Riing line of fans. Great job! -Jason
