Hi, I got a quick question about the fans on the Core v71. My 140mm exhaust fan is starting to seize up and I was wondering if I should get the same one or what do you guys recommend? Would it be best to stick with Thermaltake?

Donaldst reacted to joey9911 in Challenger Prime Software Problem!!!
Just like everyone else on this forum, the software will not install for me! I tried literally everything to try and get the software for the Tt Esports Challenger Prime keyboard to work! I tried every single download 15 times, not one works! I double click the Setup.exe and nothing happens. I'm running Windows 8.1. I can see a lot of other people are also having the same problem with the software for this keyboard. Can you please make it like the Challenger GO's software? Where there is only one executable you have to click and it actually works? I really want to use these Macro and Profile keys but I'm unable to do that without the software. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Thank you.

    Hi, people,
Can someone help me with my recent problem....
I have a Element S chassis, and recently top 230mm fan started to make increadibly loud noise.
I know that its probably end of his life but the real problem is, how to open the case so I can replace it?
Any help would do, video, walkthrough or a scheme.
    Thanks in advance.

Donaldst reacted to NTA in Fans alternating wildly...
I've had a thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme for just under a year, now, and it's been working perfectly for my AMD FX 8350, until I tried to use their included Fan Control software to create a custom speedcurve. I tried to alter the curve slightly so that the fans would go to 100% if my CPU reach 50 because it's designed to reach a maximum of 60 or so degrees.

Now the fans will only ever run at maximum speed (2000rpm) or idle at 1000rpm.
-I can change their behavior slightly - when I switch to the "extreme" profile in the software, they seem to run at 100% all the time.
-If I switch to "manual" (but factory default, so normal), they only run at 100% whenever my CPU reaches 35 C, and then drop back down to 1000rpm.
-If I switch to the "silent" profile, the fans stay at idle - presumably until my CPU gets really hot, but I'm unwilling to test that.

I've tried restarting my system, resetting my bios, re-installing the software, checking the connections...
I did send them a tech support request a few hours ago (at the time I didn't know these forums existed), but I have no way to update them on my slightly new information.

Initially I'd had my 8350 overclocked to 4.6GHz (stable for nearly a year), but while trying to fix this issue, I reset the bios, but that didn't help, outside of making a pattern visible.

-Here's a screenshot of the problem with the overclock (with notes):
    http://puu.sh/h7Npx/854d680655.jpg

-Here's a screenshot while running at stock voltages (this CPU is under load the entire time in this one):
    http://puu.sh/h7YU3/9b158b1321.png

It's as if the program forgot how to increase the speed gradually, making the fans run at "idle" or "max", and there's a threshold at certain temperatures, though the only one I've been able to observe is the one at 35 C under the normal profile.

So basically my computer is usable - if I sacrifice the overclock I've had for months and am willing to deal with the computer alternating between silent and extremely loud ever few seconds. And yes, it's my only computer.

    Thanks for the help!

(Running Windows 7, and open hardware monitor to monitor temps - normally)
(Actually, the fans would only jump up to full speed if the CPU ever got to 35C. So I'd only have to deal with the constant alternating when working on a project or playing a game. If I was simply browsing or letting the computer idle, the fans would ramp up less often.)

My son built his own computer and used a Thermaltake T2 700W power supply. After 22 months the PC quit working-wouldn't turn on. I am a bit of a technician so I tried to troubleshoot the PS. The LED on the CPU motherboard lights up but I can meter no voltage on any other connectors. I went to Frys and bought what I thought was the same unit but the Atx12v connector on the motherboard is 4 pin. The new ps does not have 4 pin connectors. So now im confused when the specs say the ATX 12v connector is 4 pin. Why did it change?

Donaldst reacted to Andrei Z in Where do I buy PCI cables ?
Alright, just bought a new vid card andrealised that my power supply does not have another cable for the PCI-E. My power supply does have 2 other 6 pin ports that should support another PCI-E cable and probably another for Molex or other, but I do not own any of them. Where to look for, so that I won't bust my power supply, or what alternatives do I have ?

Donaldst reacted to AlexeyAR5 in Silver River III 5G + 5TB WD Red not working properly
    Hello.

Recently I have purchased a 5TB WD Red HDD and a Silver River III 5G enclosure for it. Unfortunately they seem not to work properly with each other.
    I tried several usecases:
Attach the enclosure with drive to a win 7 x64 system - win 7 wasn't able to discover the drive from computer management app (Win+R->control admintools->computer management) Reboot to a Ubuntu 14.04 x64 system - situation is better, gparted sees the disk and i was able to make two(4TB + 1TB) ntfs partitions on it. Again reboot to win 7 x64 (the drive was partitioned from gparted under ubuntu) - still no luck, the system can't see the drive. Connect the enclosure with the drive to ASUS RT-AC68U router (that is my aim - i want to make a home storage drive, controlled from the router) - not working. BTW, I tried to use the enclosure with my old WD Green 500GB HDD - works like a charm.

My question: is there a way for Silver River III 5G to work with 5TB WD Red HDD?

    Thanks in advance.

i....really need to think of better usernames :'(

so, Hi guys! ill do a little intro first, my name is Drew, 26 Australian, ive just started running my own, small PC business. long walks on the beach....but you want to know my build?

(apologies for the terrible photos, ill be shooting new ones soon)

may i introduce "Project Galactus" a 3-stage build, to show you dont need to spend a fortune, to build a world eater

CPU: AMD FX-8350 (currently running 4.5Ghz)
Cooler: Thermaltake 2.0 Pro with NiC C5 fans (Push/Pull) ive gone with the C5 fans for better CFM, and a nicer look
Mobo: ROG Crossfire V Formula Z
    RAM: G.Skill Trident-X 2400Mhz 2x4GB
    GPU: Sapphire 7950
    PSU: 620w Antec HCG

-Stage 2- (expected completion time, 2-3weeks)
240GB SSD (brand yet to be determined)
RAM upgrade to 16GB G.Skill's or Avexir Blitz 1.1 16GB 2x8GB 2133Mhz (waiting to hear back from them, to see if they do 4x4GB)
PSU Upgraded to Thermaltake 1050w DPS G
2 more Sapphire 7950's (3 total) with custom black backplates
Red and Black cable extensions, all combed.
Try to get as close to a stable 6Ghz as possible

    -Stage 3-
    5x Thermaltake red Riing 12's
custom front plate, removing the mesh, replacing with sheet aluminium, with a big Tt CnC cut into it, LED lit to the Thermaltake colors

All up, its set to cost me around $1200 to put Galactus together, using a combination of new and quality second hand parts.
i think that covers pretty much everything im doing, if i remember any more, ill let you know

Edit: im really sorry for the potato photos, please dont hurt me

This is just a thread for discussing any anime we are interested in, have watched, want to watch, or whatever else applies.

I am easily a fan of classic anime including Kinnikuman, Fist of the North Star, Lupin the Third, Space Adventure Cobra, Ashita no Joe, Otokojuku, and Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 among others. I'm mainly inclined to classic franchises because I tend to feel MOST anime nowadays is too reliant on or deliberate with their use of fanservice and overly annoying characters compared to back then, thus I tend to avoid most modern animes but direct iterations/spinoffs of an older series (ex. Golgo 13 and JoJo's) or ones consisting primarily of adults (ex. Black Lagoon).

This is an image I once made by tracing over existing images of characters and putting them in one massive group pic, all of these except for Mazinger (waiting for better subs to be available online) I have watched at least one full episode of. Unfortunately I lost most of the individual images of each character so I can't really expand the roster without doing it all over again (It's not too difficult aside from Kenshiro and Gundam). I did do one recently of Moguro Fukuzou from Laughing Salesman (Which is my current avatar) but I'm not sure If I'll bother re-making the rest.

From left to right...Kitaro (GeGeGe no Kitaro), Ryotsu Kankichi (Kochikame), Mazinger Z, Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star), Lupin III, Astro Boy/Atom, Cobra (Space Adventure Cobra), RX-78 Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam), Kinnikuman, Cutey Honey, Seiya (Saint Seiya / Knights of the Zodiac).
