Allerleidesign got a reaction from loopon in noob question about cha fan
Asking questions does not make you a noob, it's smarter to ask then it is to go play and possibly break things on your own....

The 4-pin headers on the Asus Z170-p  actually double as 3-pin headers, so you can just connect the 3pin fan to those 4-pin headers.

No problem, im here to help
Yeah that means your Motherboard isn't providing enough power on those fan headers.
Bit of a let-down on the power requirement front of the Riings i guess.

hi jos, remember that state of the art hardware is nice to have, but you can make case with low end too. that way you can better your skills, improve your talents and
pave the way through experience to developing your know how. its more than one casemod that will lets you know what you do best, what you like doing and what not.
you always then find out too what works and what doesnt. you will also find which materials you work with best and find the limits according to to tools you use and methods you choose. so dont think you have to wiat till you have the best possible hardware, just start modding. you can always integrate the best possible hardware later too. my first more or less respectable casemod was worth 29 euros out of ebay. it was niothing compared to all ma opponents at the 2010er DCMM, but it was still successfull. so dont think you have to have the best stuff to make the best stuff.
its you as an artist who have to make, goo, bad or ugly things shine like gold.
i should stop preaching so much, but its my experiene. creativity and fantasy should not be hemmed and bordered in by budjets and estrictions.

Yes, the cablecombs are pretty much purely for aesthetics.  They were actually my original cable management plan, and a first attempt at milling aluminum.  The Cable brackets came a little later, but I still like the alum+black look so I'll keep the combs too.

The screws on the top of the brackets nest into holes in the cutout on the center wood support.  It keeps the top of the bracket lined up and stable when I slide the center support pocket over the cables and brackets.  I didn't originally think the screws holding the brackets to the case would be strong enough to keep them sturdy with all the cables and stuff going in... but it turned out they were.  A little extra support won't hurt them though.

I'll take some pictures of how that assembly fits together this evening.

I'm working with several controllers for fans and lighting and want to have them in groups.
Fans - Top lighting - Bottom lighting
Need multiple cables and extensions from side to side through the 'powerbar'

like the ROG logo effect indeed, tho i'd prolly use a tiny mirror to project it onto the wall behind the monitor instead of at the floor

hi allerleidesign, glad you like it. yes i love delving into a theme and swimming in detailed ideas.
yes there is indeed a reason, they are real glass and seeing as it is at least possible that this machine could go to taiwan, as well as for sure to the modding masters in freidrichshafen as well as the german casemod championship at the gamescom cologne, then it will be exhibited in a museum in england too (and many other exhibitions), i just done want to take the risk of some happening, the bottles breaking and bang goes the whole build.
by the way, the bottles will also be decorated with logos, seals and RUM emblems as well as fittings looking like they are being held.
apart from that, the back to front concept is piracy , then prophecy, so i want as less modern hardware from the back moving into more and more when looking towards the front. well thats my plan anyway, but it seems to be working so far.

    ps: allerleidesign sounds german based????

Lets kick off with the first big update

    Unpacking .. Awesome!

    The P5's

    480 Rads

    Plenty of pump power.

    Reservoirs

    Lots of fans.

    Cpu and Strix blocks

Not sure yet if and how much I will use it, but a bending kit

It will be a mixture of PETG and nickelplated brass

    All unpacked

    So shiny!

The gaming gear! Off course needed to complete a desk.

    First steps, mounting the fans.

    And sleeving the pumps.

Just trying to imagine myself how it would look.

Sawing mounting rails for the desk

Will be using regular shelve holders to mount the desk to the wall

    The idea

    More next time
