eqeqeqe reacted to hize in Challenger Prime Macro/On-board Storage Question
    Hello,

Does the Challenger Prime allow users to save macros to the keyboard via on-board storage so that one can use this saved configuration on different PCs without the software?

If so, I was wondering if it was possible to have the challenger prime configured as follows, with one of the T1-6 keys bound to a custom macro and then saving the configuration to the onboard storage for use on a different PC without the software?

    Thank you.

    Build log introduction

    About the modder and build.

Welcome, my name is Ian Duncanson i am a 26 year old modder from victoria Australia i have been building and working on computers since i was 15. This is my third fully custom pc and one i wish to showcase, so lets begin.

    The concept -

Simply with the age of ikea and the ability to customise along side the rise of the desk builds i have decided to design and build a desk based upon one of my favorite cases the thermaltake core x9. Now having built a previous desk before i know to an extent whats needed (my original build was a rush job so i had somewhere to play games and best utilise the limited space i had). The necessary goals to a great desk concept are outlined below and are my goals for this build.

Another note about me, im not the best when i comes to 3d drawing and renders so i do the majority by hand its never great but it give me what i need to work with.

this space is reserved for our sponsors starting with:

Thermaltake, without the faith that quite a few of their staff have put in me none of this would be possible. they have and will be supplying me with cases fans/controllers and watercooling gear

    Goals:

    - Fully modular desk solution
    - core values (moddable, versatile, astetically pleaseing)
    -light weight but strong.

    Design-

The design is simple, 5 modules (2 x core x9 cases with 3 custom modules forming a desktop) the desk will be constructed out of aluminium and parts of a (few) damaged core x9's the custom parts will he powdercoated white to closely match the original cases.

Heres a couple of those sketchy drawings i mentioned disregard the measurements these changed many times upon realising i had inadvertantly rushed my measurements.

So we will be begining the construction and finalise the design on the fly. An old war saying is that every plan is a good one till the first bullet flies.

But first a very big thank you to some of my friends for the community, the support you have shown even at the early stages has been phenomenal and for that i thank you.

My first order arrived from thermaltake australia the other day i posted an unboxing ceremony on my facebook page (http://facebook.com/ianduncansoncomputermods)
So i will skip this one as im sure you have all seen this beautiful case before.

Ok so maybe one or 2 photos

Now as much as i love the front grill design for what im doing its too hard to have replicated locally i was quoted over 300 dollars for material and cutting for a full sheet and i only need less than half of one :/

So another popular idea occured i will still have the front panel as a whole just not the mesh... so instead i have started to organise some dark tint perspex to be delivered for the build. But im getting ahead of myself.. but more to come soon

When I started my first modding project with Thermaltake, I was not really sure what I wanted to achieve with this build. How to make it a part of what I do, taking into account what I have done for several years with my car hobby and paint hobby and bring it into full throttle for a unique system, a Thermaltake system that I am proud to say is my own.

    The Build

First Step was to take the chassis completely apart and send off the frame to get it chromed. This process took about a month and required sandblasting off the stock finish, while going through the process of being copper plated, polished, nickel plating, then chrome plating and finally polished.

The end result looks like this:

Now before we get started, here is the color I chose for the body panels. This is HoC (House of Color) Candy Tangerine Orange "UK08-BC02" - http://www.houseofkolor.com/speedshapes/speedshapes_urethanes.jsp

Now back to the Chrome... Here is some of the pictures I took in the office to show my friends of the first big step I took into this build!

eqeqeqe reacted to FlowMods in [Worklog] Project SnowLite by FlowMods
    Hi guys!

I am Filippo and I am a 20 years old italian modder! Last year I finished a mod with Cooler Master Italy, called Project Alpha, which had a lot of success! Then I had the luck to be invited to participate in a big project for Nanoxia, which invited me to Germany to build a desk pc for their booth at Computex in June 2015!   I am going to introduce this new mod sponsored by ThermalTake that I thank you immensely for the support!   The Mod, in white & black theme, is based on a Core X9 Snow Edition to which I decided to remove the original front and midplate and to replace them with two pieces of acrylic completely designed by me and made with laser cutting and CNC milling machine!   The project includes two liquid cooling loop which will respectively cool the CPU and 2 GTX 970 strix! Each loop has a D5 pump and a 480mm radiator connected by rigid pipes while under the midplate I assembled systems with flexible tubes to facilitate the assembly operations. The threads for fittings mounted on midplate were hand made, and the work was not so easy. The hard part was being able to have a tip that does not split open the plexiglass out of the hole, I solved that problem by bringing the drill bit to changr the cut angle to the company I'm referring to the works in acrylic! All cables are sleeved by me, it wasn't easy since it's the first time i made a full sleeved cable set, but sleeves from Icemodz are amazing, and the will be cool   But let me say the components of this mod, which I list below:   HW: Asus Maximus VII Ranger i5 4670k 2x Asus GTX 970 Strix Thermaltake Thoughpower Grand Platinum 1200w HDD: 1TB Barracuda Ram: 4x4 DDR3 1600 Avexir Core Red Led SSD: 1x Samsung 850 EVO 256GB   Loops: 2x pumps D5 Thermaltake (Pacific P1 black) 2x trays cylindrical Thermaltake (Pacific T22) 2x 480mm radiators Thermaltake (Pacific RL480) WB 2x GPU Asus Strix 970 Thermaltake 1x WB CPU Thermaltake Pacific W1 8x Fans Thermaltake Riing White LED Several fittings Thermaltake Chrome Tubes 16/12 PETG ThermalTake DP Ultra liquid Aquacomputer Aquaero 5 LT Power Adjust 3 Ultra by Aquacomputer 2 Temperature sensor to monitor the loops temperatures.   I take this opportunity to thank ThermalTake and especially Andy, who supplied me with such a large number of components to build this mod to re-enter in the world of modding after a stop of some months. I also thank Mundi from Icemodz.com who provided me all the material needed to create my sleeved cables!   I leave you to the photos of the progress!   Filippo   Thanks:     Photos:

The theme of this project evolved and took on a life of it's own when I first posted the announcement on Facebook. My initial plan was to do some cool water-cooling showcased by adding windows to the Thermaltake Level 10 Titanium case. I did not want to modify the color of the case as the Titanium finish is the calling card of the case to set it apart from the other family members in the Level 10 group. My plan was (and is) to use projection mapping to modify the external appearance of the chassis in a dynamic manner. Facebook users noticed my case is numbered 007 - so they immediately demanded I theme the project based on James Bond. This lit my imagination on fire. Thus far I am planning on playing a medley of the credit introductions from the James Bond films on different facades of the case. I also plan to add some cool animationic features such as opening doors and panels powered by servos.    One neat feature I also am planning is to mount the single NVIDIA 980s via a PCI-E ribbon so I will be visible in a window I am adding to the lower main compartment of the case. One user already did something similar - however I plan to have the window actually be the top of the GPU block.

eqeqeqe reacted to Dirty South PC Mods in Project Spy vs Spy Double Stacked Core X9
Hey hey guys and girls. We have another awesome themed mod coming your way. This one is based off of one of my favorite comic strips growing up as a kid.

    Spy vs Spy

The Following was obtained from the History section of the Spy vs Spy Headquarters.   http://www.spyvsspyhq.com/history.html   Simple yet meaningful is one way to describe the wordless black and white comic strip that makes up Spy vs. Spy. The cartoon created in 1960 by Antonio Prohías, depicts the antics of two distinctly different yet similar spies who try to get the best of each other with clever yet strange schemes of espionage and deception.   Published in Mad magazine since 1961, Prohías began working on Spy vs. Spy in Cuban, but fled to the United States in 1960 just days before Fidel Castro took over the last Cuban free press.  When Prohías came to the United States he knew almost no English, but Mad magazine readers and editors quick accepted him and loved his work. Before he got the job at Mad, he worked in Queens at a clothing factory by day and drew by night in his cramped apartment.  His earlier works “Erizo,†“Oveja Negra,†“El Hombre Siniestro,†and “Tovarich†would not work in his new country where the idea of communism was not as prevalent or well taken by pleasure readers. In Cuba if you were not a supporter of Castro you were considered a spy, and this is where he got the idea.  Prohías considered himself a spy and thus the idea was born.     Prohías submitted his rough pencil concept and design sketches to MAD’s editors on normal 8.5 x 11 paper and would latter redraw the entire carton twice the size for reproduction  in the magazine.  He would go through the comic strip with pain staking detail and make sure all edges and lines were detailed in his dark bold pen and would almost never ink over his pencil drawings.    Spy vs. Spy is now a national icon, symbolic of the Cold War representing good and evil and the struggle for equilibrium.  Prohías would stealthily sign each of his Spy vs. Spy cartoons under the title panel, in Morse code, which spelled out the words "by prohias."  This is one of the most overlooked details in his work. -••• -•-- •--• •-• --- •••• •• •- •••   Antonio Prohías passed away February 24, 1998.  His masterpiece concept of the two spies battling it out lives on in the continuing work done by his successor Peter Kuper.

To give you an idea of the size of the double stacked X9. On the left of this pic is the chassis from a Thermaltake A-71 Full Tower. Each Core X9 is 1 inch taller and twice as wide.

Here we have One intact X9 and one completely disassembled.

The Core X9 has this built in plate that can be removed from the bottom panel so you can install a massive radiator in push/pull. However this is not going to work for what I have planned. For what I want to do the entire floor has to be cut out.

Hi everyone, first post here. I'm having a bit of trouble with the software that accompanies the TT esports Poseidon Z RGB keyboard.

First off, I really do love this keyboard. The clickyness is very satisfying, it's super responsive, and the lights are beautiful. But the software that you must download to change colors, create macros, and do everything else is, to be honest, garbage. It's clunky, slow, and the buttons don't work half the time.

Now, in the color effects window, I have a profile set to custom, with a layer on "Set 1." The default is there, because I cannot delete it (despite the help .pdf saying you CAN delete the default set; this is important in a moment). So the problem is, whenever I restart my computer, the keyboard (set to "Profile 1") defaults to a fully-lighted red color, which is not what I want. So when my computer boots up, I have to open up the software, open the lighting menu, and re-apply my custom lighting, which is extremely inconvenient.

Any fix to the software? I'm using the latest version (36), and as of typing this and trying to fix it myself, the word "default" and "set 1" are completely missing on "Profile 1." What's the deal here guys? I'm from the US if you need that information.

    Hallo,

- Was will man als anfangender Gamer mehr?...
Kaum daheim, hab ich sie ausgepackt. Kein Programm dabei? Oke.

    MfG Fredy

eqeqeqe reacted to abc617 in Theron Mouse Software - Warning Please plug-in Gaming Device...
Hi, I have a Theron Plus Smart Mouse and I installed the TheronPlus Software and everytime I try to run the program now, I get the following error message:

Warning Please plug-in Gaming Device to start the AP configuration!

It was working the first time I installed the program. But then I had problems messing with the macros and had to re-install the program. Now this error message pops up whenever I attempt to run the Theron Plus software.

I tried uninstalling the software, drivers, restarting, registry cleaning in all sorts of combinations, but none of whatever I tried have seemed to work.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Yesterday I was using my mouse playing LoL, then today when I wake up everything in my mouse was working except for one thing: the cursor wasnt moving, but the right click, the left click and the steering wheel works perfectly. I tried updating the firmware but when I uninstalled the 1.0 version and installed the 1.3 version, the version displayed in the program was 1.0 so... what could I do?

PS: sorry for my bad english, I'm from Colombia.

Thanks Josh, that program fixed my issue completely. I did try plugging into a different USB port, that didn't fix it, but the program sure did. Was that program available anywhere else because I sure couldn't find it. Thanks.

I have a pair of old 2.1 speakers that are starting to fail on me.  I'm looking at another set, that are very hard to find and might be going on EOL (End of Life).  A store near me has them in stock, and they are made from a reputable company, and all the reviews on them are fantastic.  Even with the EOL I'm sure they would honor the 2 year warranty.

Think it's worth the risk for an EOL product?

Hi guys, after ordering the V21 I was on the hunt for a fan controller/lcd media display for the front bay. as its a desktop pc, I thought it would make sense to incorporate an lcd display ( the dremel is coming out, I am gonna use that 5.25 inch hole on the case to mount a 5.25 inch LCD, so the front panel will need to be cut, unless you guys release a new front panel with a 5.25 inch bay and mounting kit ) like the iMon VDF, the Antec Veris or even Thermaltakes own MediaLab, (all those rely on custom media software ) however, on trying to track down these bay expansions, it seems that both iMON and the MediaLab are both discontinued,  and the Antec was very expensive and stock also shaky, years ago these expansions were very popular, but now it seems, not, it would be ace to see a unit incorporate both media and cooling, like the nMEDIAPC PRO LCD series, which are only $35-$40, although they are not fan controllers, just temp and fan speed read outs, and I am sure the reason most of all the other LCD media bays were discontinued was because of the software, no one wanted to use it, however, the idea of a front panel lcd display that shows all your system information has well as media information really appeals, and I am sure if ThermalTake came back into this market, it would be something really special, being able to incorporate your cooling knowledge into the product, imagine a unit like the nMEDIAPC lcd, but it also has a remote control like the MEDIALAD (A simple RF board) and a basic 4 fan controller built in, which you could control with the remote, now that would be something, for the moment, hopefully I can track down a UK supplier for nMEDIAPC and its very rare front panel LCD displays. (theres no way one of those cheap aero touch controllers is going near my V21)

Anyone have any idea when thermal take may release a new mouse pad? I need a big mouse bad for low sensitivity CSGOing but I don't want to buy from anyone besides thermaltake. Currently I recommend ttesports and thermal take to everyone on reddit that I meet, so I would feel like a hypocrite going elsewhere. I'm looking at the Pyrrhus Colossal right now but if they may release a newer bigger/ big one soon I may reconsider.
